Kathleen Falk was appointed as Regional Director of Region V of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in September 2013.
Kathleen brings extensive experience to this position after many years of service as a governmental leader in the state of Wisconsin.  Most recently, Kathleen served for 14 years as the highest ranking elected official in Dane County, the second largest county in Wisconsin.   Responsible for a wide range of issues, Kathleen prioritized health and human services issues.  Falk launched the Health Council, which brought together hospital CEOs, HMOs and health care providers to increase health care access for the uninsured and improve the efficiency in the provision of services. 
Prior to being elected County Executive, Falk served 14 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Wisconsin Department of Justice  after serving for 6 years as Co-Director of a non-profit organization called Wisconsin’s Environmental Decade.   A native of Wisconsin, Kathleen earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford University and her Law Degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
