On July 12th, Today's TMJ4 and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee hosted a Democratic gubernatorial candidate forum featuring: Tony Evers, Matt Flynn, Mike McCabe, Mahlon Mitchell, Josh Pade, Kelda Roys, Paul Soglin and Kathleen Vinehout. The topic of education was discussed in regards to balancing the cost of public education while retaining educators, refinancing student loans, the Choice Program, tax deductions for private schools, alternative ways for schools to raise money, rural vs. urban school needs, reading proficiency and schools having more autonomy with their state aided budgets.
