- Talk Show Host, Atlanta, GA; Historian and past professor of UW-Milwaukee (24 years)

December 30, 2017
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || Dr. William Rogers gives a rousing and philosophical structure for Kwanzaa.
His "Refresher on Kwanzaa" sets the stage of why and how the 7 principles of Nguzo Saba came about.

Yes. The Founder is Dr. Maulana Karenga. It was created in the 1966-1967 year.  Dr. Rogers gives us the basis for Dr. Karenga's creation that dates back to include Charter schools for African American children, the philosophical leadership of famous African Americans like Marcus Garvey and Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois, and the segregation of Jim Crow of the 1960's.

The seven (7) Nguzo Saba principles are:

  • Unity
  • Self-Determination
  • Collective Work and Responsibility
  • Cooperative Economics
  • Purpose
  • Creativity
  • Faith.

He further gives the seven (7) layers of cement that are needed for the 7 Nguzo Saba bricks.  They are:

  1. Truth
  2. Justice
  3. Righteous
  4. Harmony
  5. Balance
  6. Reciprocity
  7. Order.

This is also the last show of the year and Mr. Rickey Potts, Resident Commentator, leaves for a heavy commitment in BID 39.

UBLAC Response to US AG Jeff Sessions in Milwaukee - December 18, 2017

Click Photo to Enlarge - UBLAC PROTEST
December 19, 2017
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE | UBLAC - Uplifting Black Liberation and Community led a protest in front of the Federal Court Building in Milwaukee to speak truth to power against US Department of Justice AG Jeff Sessions in Milwaukee.

Sessions spoke with law enforcers about the uptick in crime in Milwaukee and an announcement of 2 federal prosecutors being added to the Eastern District.

In the protest was State Rep. David Bowen.

UBLAC Response Statement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 18, 2017
Contact: Markasa Tucker, Lead Organizer of UBLAC and Director of the African American Civic-Engagement Roundtable, 414- 699-5195, Markasa@WisconsinVoices.Org
UBLAC and the African American Roundtable Responds to Attorney General Jeff Sessions Visit to Discuss Violent Crime in Milwaukee
(Statement read this morning)
My name is Mahnker Dahnweih and I’m here representing UBLAC, a coalition of Black Women, Trans and Queer people working to Uplift Black Liberation and Community and the African American Roundtable that exists to improve the quality of life for African-American community in Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
I stand here today in utter disgust at the audacity of Mr. Sessions to visit Milwaukee to speak about violent crime with Sen. Johnson.
Jeff Sessions is a white man from Alabama who has built his entire career on the exploitation of Black families and other marginalized groups. When he had power as US Attorney for Alabama, he used it to prosecute three African Americans for defending their rights to vote. He also used his power to make sure that predominantly Black schools continued to receive less funding than predominantly White schools within the state.
When he had power in the US Senate, he used it to vote against paths to citizenship for immigrants and to prop up mass incarceration with his outdated and ill-informed opinions on cannabis.
More recently, in his role as Attorney General, he has again used his power to exploit Black families when he ended the Department of Justice’s collaborative reform initiative which investigated the Milwaukee Police Department in order to make our city more safe.
Mr. Sessions, you have no right to come into our city and claim to care about violent crime. You have called us the “N” word and referred to the KKK as an “OK” group. We don’t want you here.
You have said, in reference to violence prevention that public safety should remain in local control and local accountability. I agree with you on that front. Let community organizing groups with respect and love for our people continue to facilitate Community Led Town Halls and seek community centered solutions to promote safety.
Let us be guided by our own values of Black love and liberation to advocate for the Milwaukee we want to see for ourselves and generations to come.

TINN COUNTRY - MARY GLASS visit to Foxconn Exhibit - From Surveillance to Medicine optics

Left to Right:
Mary Glass - Chief Visionary Officer & Deb Milimaka Miles - VP, HR, Head of Global HR - Foxconn
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2017
SOUTHEASTERN WI || TINN COUNTRY is looking at the NEW possibilities in Broadband for the UNDERSERVED.  The opportunities are vast.
We expressly seek the opportunities of the NEW technology
in the Wisconn Valley for historic presence and growth of Broadband for the UNDERSERVED in the Mt. Pleasant and Racine census blocks/tacts.

Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC is working for advantage with human talent and ideas and do not expect this Exclusive and Premiere opportunity to take off without proper fitting at the census tract level for rural and urban Broadband for the UNDERSERVED.

"MPA LLC is keen on seeing that African American, other People of Color, the Work Challenged and Caucasians are working together to ensure that the opportunities from the Taiwan Manufacturing Company are NOT dismissive of ALL being a good neighbor in Social Responsibility.  Therefore, we will extend a hand of Inclusiveness for growth and success as we lay the foundation of GOODWILL and TRUST", said Mary Glass, Chief Visionary Officer, MPA LLC and author of the TINN - TEAM Internet-Net Neutrality Initiative.

At the White House, Gou made no reference to the number of jobs the facility would create. And in a news release, Foxconn was notably more measured than Walker was, using the word "potential" in saying the plant would "create3,000 jobs with the potential to grow to 13,000 new jobs."Jul 27, 2017
"We have work to do.  The promise of 3,000 jobs at what ongoing ballooning price? Given Walker Act 10 law and his discussion with Trump for expansion of Act 10 labor limits for other states, they (Walker, Trump, Hou, Ryan) must be licking their chops.  WAKE UP Milwaukee - Wisconsin," said Mary Glass, Chief Visionary Officer, MPA LLC.

The Reason why Net Neutrality is Important

Melody Villaneuva - Activists, Milwaukee
December 5, 2017
The reason why Net Neutrality is important is because it is part of Our US Democracy and its the envy around the world due to the Free Equal Access and speed to the Internet for We the people of the United States no matter of one's finances.

Net Neutrality is Open and a free internet experience that is unlimited, educational, and informative.  It has become a necessity like water, air, and public land.

It has become a part of our Constitutional Freedoms like our freedom of expression, freedom of press, and freedom to protest peacefully.

Net Neutrality is part of our democracy.
On December 14, 2017, Ajit Pai, Chairman of the FCC-Federal Communication Commission will vote to distinguish what We the People have access to when it comes to the internet.

The change would feel like living in a Dictatorship like Russia and North Korea - the government in these two countries control what their citizens watch, read, hear, and see.  It is a form of suppression and oppression of the internet.

Net neutrality is just as important as our constitutional freedoms. Imagine if your child goes to school and is injured or diagnosed with cancer and can't go to class for about a month or more, there's an internet option where a child can learn from home and still have a classroom experience through the internet.  This is one example of how important net neutrality is to public education and higher education.

Would it be fair for those who depend on the Internet for school, business or entrepreneurship to be limited or deprived access to the internet because of one's finances?

We, The People, cannot allow an administration who seems to be determined to dismantle our US Democracy for Vladimir Putin's playbook of propaganda and tyranny.

We, The People, of the USA cannot stand idly by while the FCC majority dismantle our Democracy on December 14, 2017.  We must Protect Net Neutrality as it is a "necessity"  and part of We The People's USA Democracy.
=============

Call FCC to tell them to Keep the internet Free and Open.  To protect Net Neutrality.  Call 202.418.1000 - It is the office of Chairman Ajit Pai Federal Communication Commission. This article is by Melody Villanueva, December 5, 2017.

Tony Zielinski is Running for Mayor of the City of Milwaukee

e
December 4, 2017
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || 14th District Alderman Anthony "Tony" Zielinski has thrown his hat into the ring for the 45th mayor of the city of Milwaukee.

Taking an assessment of what Alderman Anthony "Tony" Zielinski provided for his coming out statement was a sense of commitment to Running a Campaign for to Win.  He came out with the pursuit of "Mayor only" rather than his aldermanic seat and mayor.  He also gave his campaign a real shot in the arm of a $100,000 loan.  According to his financial amount in his campaign finance report, he has $50,000 in his campaign coffers, that makes a minimum of $150,000 startup.

He gave some Talking Points for his candidacy, however, he will need to look at his behavior as Chair of the Licensing Committee and voting practices at hearings and standing committee meetings.

The place he chose to make his announcement - Milwaukee Police Association - has a historic black mark that has not improved over the years for African American and People of Color - the MAJORITY of the Electorates in Milwaukee.

Flashback of brutality, mistreatment, discrimination, disrespect, US DOJ study, and murders of African American and People of Color has yet a bad taste.  His pledge to a 21st Century police chief is too generic and does not speak to the NEEDS  of Milwaukeeans.  Then there is the lack of seriousness of quality of life and economic development to replace the mired condition of  Enduring Concentrated Poverty.  There was NO mention of Broadband Internet, Incarceration Reform and public transportation for the working unemployed and working underemployed.   Over the two years, he has much to do to WIN.
