IN THE NEWS TODAY

U.S. stock futures were higher again this morning. A strong bounce-back on Wall Street Tuesday, which followed two sessions of steep post-Brexit declines, basically erased Monday's downturn. European stockswere higher for a second day, as was the battered British pound. (CNBC)

Global bond prices and gold were rather steady as investors ventured into riskier assets as concerns about near-term Brexit risks eased. Oil was rallying again as traders turned their attention to supply risks from a potential strike in Norway and crisis in Venezuela. (Reuters)

Embodying nationalistic themes that stoked leave voters' ire in Britain's EU referendum, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Trump painted Democratic rival Hillary Clinton as a champion of globalization that's pushed manufacturing jobs overseas. (AP)

Istanbul's busy Ataturk Airport reopened this morning, after an attack blamed on ISIS killed at least 41 people and wounded more than 100 others. Authorities said three terrorists arrived in a cab and opened fire and set off at least two explosions. (NBC News)

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump offered quite different reactions to the Istanbul terror attacks. Clinton offered support, while Trump advocated fighting "fire with fire," highlighting the contrasting views of the candidates on foreign policy. (NBC News)
Shares of Dow component Nike (NKE) were sharply lower in premarket trading, after warning about slower future orders. The athletic apparel and footwear maker did report slightly better-than-expected quarterly earnings and in-line revenues. (CNBC)

After 14 years at the helm , Honeywell's (HON) David Cote plans to step down as CEO at the end of March 2017. He'll be replaced by President and COO Darius Adamczyk. Cote will continue as executive chairman until April 2018. (Reuters)http://nbcnews.to/28ZInZS

Shares of Dow stock United Technologies (UTX) were little changed in the premarket on the Honeywell leadership changes. Cote had spearheaded a Honeywell effort to acquire UTX for more than $90 billion. The deal fell apart in March because UTX rebuffed the offer. (CNBC)

In the wake of Tesla's (TSLA) proposed bid for SolarCity (SCTY), an investor group called on the electric automaker to add two independent directors and separate the chairman and CEO roles held by founder Elon Musk. Musk is also chairman and largest shareholder of SolarCity. (Reuters)

Online home rental marketplace Airbnb is currently raising an undisclosed amount of cash at a $30 billion valuation. Such a deal would make Airbnb the second-most valuable startup in the U.S., trailing only Uber that's valued at $62.5 billion. (Recode)

Senate Democrats blocked a deal for funding to fight the mosquito-borne Zika virus, which has been linked to birth defects in the babies of infected pregnant women. The stalemate virtually guarantees legislation won't get to the president's desk this month. (The Hill)

TEXT4BABY - JUNE 28, 2016

June 28, 2016

Dear MARY,

With the 4th of July right around the corner, we would like to highlight a ZERO TO THREE(ZTT) resource created specifically for military families with young children. The Military Family Project (MFP) works to increase awareness and collaboration throughout the military community so that parents and professionals can more effectively care for very young children and their families. Available resources on their page include videos, articles, children's books, and even an app, that cover topics such as deployment, reunification, relocation, and staying connected when separated physically.

Text4baby can be a useful tool for military families, particularly since many military spouses, especially moms, can sometimes feel isolated and in need of support. Text4baby provides a free, simple way for these families to get the health and safety information they need during their pregnancies and baby's first year, as well as the support and resources we provide.

Remember to share these resources with the military families you work with, and have a fun and safe Independence Day!

Sincerely,

The Text4baby Team
Take Action

So much more is known now than a generation ago about how and when brain architecture is built and how deeply it is influenced by early connections and experiences. The first 1,000 days is the time of greatest opportunity and highest risk. That's why ZERO TO THREE, with the support and collaboration of the Bezos Family Foundation, undertook a comprehensive research effort that included a series of in-home discussions and a national parent survey. We went directly to parents of young children - largely millennials and Generation X mothers and fathers - to gain a clear and in-depth understanding about the challenges they face, the help they seek, and how satisfied they are with the support and information they currently receive. Click here to learn more about the results of the survey!
Quote of the Week
"I signed up for Text4baby when I found out I was pregnant in February 2012. The messages I received throughout my pregnancy were very informative. My son Braydon was born on October 24, 2012 and I am happy to continue to receive messages that are now tailored to his age and development. I especially appreciate the supportive messages that are sent to encourage new mothers. I truly enjoy participating in this helpful program. Thank you so much for this wonderful resource!"

MPA LLC SEMINAR II - East/West BRT, JUNE 22, 2016

"MPA LLC SEMINAR I East/West BRT was the kick-off  of Personnel Development seminars hosted by Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC for the citizenry of Milwaukee, especially African American, other People of Color and the Work Challenged.  The Infrastructure of Public Transportation is in need of upgrades - upgrades that have the fingerprint of the end-users for a 21st Century outlook for safety, employment, fast and efficient travels that are cost-efficient," said Mary Glass.
================

The East/West BRT Feasibility Plan was REJECTED by the citizenry at the Milwaukee Public Involvement Meetings (April 12 & April 14, 2016).  The meetings were held in downtown Milwaukee and the Zoofari site in Wauwatosa.

The THREE (3) consistent items of "objection" were:

  • WRONG Corridor - should be NORTH/SOUTH.
  • Too COSTLY.
  • Lack BENEFITS - Speed and Employment.
MPA LLC disagree with data of Ridership.  In fact, Milwaukee county has data that supports the need for NORTH/SOUTH ridership and the needs for connectors to outer Employment sites that are North and South.  This includes additional support for Routes 6 and 279 that were added as a result of a class-action suit by the Black Health Coalition and MICAH (funding expires in 2017).

North/South Anchor sites are needed for to solidify Safety, Employment, and Self-sufficiency of the city of Milwaukee electorate population.

In MPA LLC Seminar I - Richard Kauper, Architect, Amazing Architecture spoke with questions of the East/West data.

In MPA LLC Seminar II - Mary Glass will provide an overview of the vetting of the East/West BRT, short Timeline, lack foot print of the Core Constituents, and the outreach to SAG/Stakeholders Advisory Group.

JUNETEENTH Day - June 19, 2019

JUNETEENTH Day - June 19, 2016
June 19, 2016
It is the name for a holiday celebrating June 19, 1865, the day when Union soldiers arrived in Texas and spread the word that President Lincoln had delivered his Emancipation Proclamation. News traveled so slowly in those days that Texas did not hear of Lincoln's Proclamation, which he gave on January 1, 1863, until more than two years after it was issued!

The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." Thus, the Emancipation Proclamation was limited in many ways. It applied only to states that had seceded from the Union, leaving slavery untouched in the loyal border states. It also expressly exempted parts of the Confederacy that had already come under Northern control. Most important, the freedom it promised depended on upon Union military victory.

Although Juneteenth has been informally celebrated each year since 1865, it wasn't until June 3, 1979, that Texas became the first state to proclaim Emancipation Day (Juneteenth) an official state holiday. But it is much more than a holiday. Juneteenth has become a day for African Americans to celebrate their freedom, culture, and achievements. It is a day for all Americans to celebrate African American history and rejoice in their freedom.

Happy Father's Day! Sunday, June 19, 2016

Worldwide | Today we pay tribute to the "fathers" of the world.

Wikipedia
father is the male parent of a child. Besides the paternal bonds of a father to his children, the father may have a parental legal and social relationship with the child that carries with it certain rights and obligations, although this varies between jurisdictions. An adoptive father is a male who has become the child's parent through the legal process of adoption. A biological father is the male genetic contributor to the creation of the baby, through sexual intercourse or sperm donation. A biological father may have legal obligations to a child not raised by him, such as an obligation of monetary support. A putative father is a man whose biological relationship to a child is alleged but has not been established. A stepfather is a male who is the husband of a child's mother and they may form a family unit, but who generally does not have the legal rights and responsibilities of a parent in relation to the child.

BUBLR BIKE REDLINING, Discrimination and Disenfranchisement is WRONG

Do you know the site of these Bublr Bikes?
Do you know these folks above?
JUNE 17, 2016
MILWAUKEE | MPA Public Policy Review continues to flag articles, create dialog, and report the practices of those using government funding - elected, appointed, hired and donor for hire representatives of the government.

Our recent discoveries show how individuals, groups, and monopoly oligopoly groups have formed a comfortable alliance with members of our city major departments - Department of City Development, Department of Public Works and Department of Neighborhood Services.  The city budget and other federal funding (as a direct result of being tied to the city or county budget) has a flood of funds going to all kinds of programs (many with some of the same folk).  Bublr Bike is the first organization of our list of Why?
============================

About Bublr Bikes

Bublr Bikes is Milwaukee’s bike share program! With Bublr Bikes, you’re able to take a bike from one Bublr Station, enjoy a quick ride to wherever, and return the bike to any Bublr Station that’s nearby. It’s our goal to launch 100+ Bublr Stations in Milwaukee and the surrounding ‘burbs!

Our Vision

Bicycles are an accessible, convenient and integrated travel option for everyone.

Our Mission

Bublr Bikes delivers a sustainable, excellent bike share system for all.

Milwaukee Business Journal
Milwaukee Business Journal Milwaukee's bike share program, in cooperation with the city's Department of Public Works, has applied for a total of $5.5 million in grants from the federal government to support expansion of the network for several more years.
On behalf of the Bublr Bikes organization, the city applied for funding through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality program, to build out the next three phases of the program.
===============
We see that some changes have taken place over the last few days.
Below is one of them.
Do you know these folks?
I know of them.  I know the fruits of their labor.  Are they trustworthy?
================
SponsorsCurrent Sponsors
The Bublr Bikes  system is a public-private partnership between the City of Milwaukee and Bublr Bikes, a Milwaukee-based not-for-profit organization, with additional support from many other public and private partners. All of our sponsors help Bublr Bikes offer residents and visitors a fresh perspective of Milwaukee.

MPA LLC
It is just amazing what happens when like-minds, well-connected, and what's-in-it-for-me benefits are available.

It all started with funding and support of the City of Milwaukee.
Tell me how we, The People, WILL/must deal with the mayor and common council who  create TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION, "disenfranchisement" through support of SEGREGATION, DISCRIMINATION, and outright bigotry?

QUESTION
How does this company come about in Urban Milwaukee?
How do you (Tom Barrett-Jeff Poleske-members of the Bublr leadership) come to the People's budget and get/take funds for the jumpstart of Bublr Bike and give/share with Caucasians-focus areas, schools, and downtown without first sharing in the economic development - INCLUSIVENESS, building hope, jobs, sites, maintenance and neighborhood lifestyle within the area of African American, other People of Color and the Work Challenged? Especially since these are the owners of the coffers.  What's missing here?  Answers.  Re-structuring.  Accountability.

By the way, what happen to the Bublr Team Leadership and the Staff pages - photos - backgrounds?
Attorney Bruce Keyes - Foley & Lardner
Bruce Keyes is the President and Co-Founder.
He is also a representative of the court - Regulatory lawyer.
How did this happen?

MPA LLC Calls for ROI from Individuals, groups and corporations during JUNETEENTH SEASON

DOWNTOWN MILWAUKEE |  Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC has added an Action step to its public square review of best practices by making a "Citizen Notification".

An Email, Text, Voice Mail, and Telephone Call notice to those found misusing power, showing cronyism and special favor, the appearance of conflict of interest, greed and monopoly-oligopoly style business management to control economic development and wealth.  The net value is the disenfranchisement of all protective classes and Enduring Concentration Poverty.

A list is being compiled to bring attention to individuals, groups, and corporations that have just gone "Hog-Wild" in taking the resources of the Core Constituents of the city of Milwaukee for questionable means, means of greed with marginal to NO INTENTIONS of ROI/Return on Investment.

The greed is massive and is heavily tied to the construction, highway, infrastructure for public transportation, real estate, environmental, health care, public funding of all kinds, and lifestyle projects.

Our first organization is Bublr Bike.
They have given REDLINING a new name.

The nobleness of the BIKE idea at the present time is lost in its receiving city of Milwaukee budget funding, using the city of Milwaukee's name to garner favor while REDLINING areas of African American, other People of Color and the Work Challenged census tracts.  They also seem to have a privilege rating with the mayor Tom Barrett, City Engineer Jeff Polenske, and the Common Council.  Therefore, it is necessary that federal oversight and review be brought in - in addition to other legal considerations after speaking with the partners to be.

They also failed to ROI in employment by hiring seemingly "only Caucasians" - some from out of town.

Milwaukee has a 60% un- and under-employment in the People of Color neighborhoods.  Are we to assume that Attorney Bruce Keyes and partners could not find Core Constituents in Milwaukee to work?  We will ask what this is about.

More importantly, since the monies have come through the public coffers, we will seek measures of the law that speak to taxation without representation and other unlawful appearances.

Since Bruce Keyes is a Regulatory lawyer - partner with Foley & Lardner, the top law firm of the state of Wisconsin, we are very curious as to what type of narrative and ideology is with this business.

We are certain that changes are necessary with better engagement, return on investment and better relationship with and in the African American, other People of Color and Work Challenged neighborhoods.  Perhaps some franchises will be afforded the stock/stakeholders of the city budget.

We did an article on June 5, 2016 about Bublr -

I will be back.
