Citizenship Test is here for Graduation in 2017 - Starts July 1, 2016

MILWAUKEE | DPI - The Department of Public Instruction is placed in the position of leadership of sharing the information per law - 2015 Act 55, Civics Test Requirement - Relevant Statutory Language.
New requirement for all Diploma, GED and HSED Students
Effective July 1, 2016 all students who have not earned a GED or HSED will be required to pass a 100 question civics test with a score of 60 or better.

To help get the ball rolling, Beth Lewis, Alternative Education & GED/HSED Administrator, DPI, recently sent out over 4,000 letters to students and site leaders to help ensure notice.
Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC is working to ensure that the GED & HSED sites in the neighborhoods are aware and pooling resources to guarantee the passing of the Citizenship test will NOT block graduation of students in correctional-related sites, MATC-Milwaukee Area Technical College, MPS-Milwaukee Public Schools, and specialty high schools.
