LAW ENFORCEMENT - Clarke OR Moews for Sheriff, What say you?

L:  Candidates for Milwaukee County Sheriff - Lt. Chris Moews, City of Milwaukee Police Department
R:  Sheriff David Clarke
***************************
City Center Milwaukee | Saturday, August 9, 2014, The primary is this Tuesday, August 12, 2014, Sheriff David Clarke, incumbent, and Milwaukee Police Lieutenant Chris Moews, are on the ballot Tuesday, August 12, 2014, for the position of Milwaukee County Sheriff.

Have you vetted these two (2) men?
Do you have any idea of what they will do until the next campaign?
Do you know who they answer to?
And, if you do, does it match your needs and what you want for the city of Milwaukee?

Yes.  I know this is a Milwaukee county position.

=================================

Given the terrain, we must make the BEST decision we can.
Voting should be on the merits.
Voting should also be weighed on what we know about the status quo for Milwaukeeans.
Given the above, do we hold our nose and pick?

CONSIDER
Behavior matters. Failure to know and recognize flaws is unacceptable.
Behavior matters. Wild statements without balance is alarming and can not be endorsed.
Egotistical behavior that degrades the office being served and those client/customers/citizens served is a NO. NO. No one is exempt.

Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, MPA LLC said, "The above says we the People have not engaged 'without-fail' oversight and pulling in the reins when Sheriff David Clarke has sought to leverage power through unacceptable means.  No. Not Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling type.  We have individuals and organizations that can leverage restraint and foolishness.  The People can put David Clarke, public servant "in check".

"I think Sheriff Clarke has created his public facade/persona to bring on the conservative voters, Republican voters and the disgruntle voters as well as keep certain critics wondering", Glass said.

On the otherhand, the city of Milwaukee Police Department has such an inhuman and damaging record for barbaric and concentrated discriminating, bullying, disregard for African Americans and other People of Color that a candidate coming from the rank and file would need to show how he, Chris Moews, (pronounced Mays) would not bring some of the same tactics to the county jail; especially since we have a disproportionate amount of African American incarcerated.

Since Lt. Chris Moews is at the Executive level of Milwaukee Police Department, will he run the county as he, Chief Edward Flynn and Mayor Barrett is presently running the city police department?

As far as budget, the city police department is the highest item for the city budget and the police department has soaked up $$millions on overtime.  They also have took over other funding to the city that should be at the neighborhood level.  That is, straight to the neighborhood level without a stopover payment to the police department; i.e., Safe and Sound.  CLICK

As far as the commentary by Shepherd Express that alludes to "with character and skills needed to restore integrity to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and his knowledge of the negative impact the current sheriff's actions have had on county residents' safety and well-being; how Lt. Moews will work cooperatively with others in the city and suburbs to turn things around.  Well, the above commentary is highly subjective and fails to consider the above paragraphs mentioned about the behavior of city police department that Lt Moews comes from.  As for working with the other counties, since they seemly do not have the same citizenry issues of profiling, disproportionate arrests, and other value issues; plus you have the 3-team members of Mayor Tom Barrett (Milwaukee 7), Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn and County Executive Chris Abele to back his act, the other counties will not (in the public) matter.

Yes.  He would would work with County Executive Chris Abele and by proxy Mayor Tom Barrett for business as usuall and "do-nothing" but target the citizenry of Milwaukee that are of Color for more dollars.

"I can speak of Executive Chris Abele's unethical practices when it comes to fairness with commercial business seeking to work with county citizenry.  He fails his Oath big time and has misused the power of his office - which will come back to the county in a huge civil suit.  How is that saving the taxpayers and increasing cooperation", Glass said.  CLICK

Plus, we know that County Executive Chris Abele acts like he is above the law.  Not to mention, how he has divisively fought Sheriff David Clarke with this Wisconsin pact - Is he using his money or his father's wealth?
Read what Abele said in 2011.  CLICK

As far as draw negative attention, he is coming from a body of law enforcers who have for decaded brought negative attention to the city of Milwaukee, law enforcement and the state.  The many, many African Americans that have been violated, profiled, disrespected, given phoney records, had penetrated private parts, arrested on bogus charges, brutalized, shot and murdered by Milwaukee Police Department could give you more than PAUSE here.

Specificity in positive impact of the present Milwaukee County jail operations and administration in a manner that is an upgrade of the "present" and create a more humane system with a progress of less incarcerated for after-the-fact violations.  Yes. I know he is enforcement of law.  However, there are so many points of clarity needed that start from the manner of incarceration to the day-to-day condition in the jail - behavior of officers, increase training of personnel, intake/out processing, competive and inclusive vendor selections to curb high cost, high cost of telephones and help stem the tide whereever possible to decrease crime.

I do not hear that from either.
