Our secret garden is a "summer home" not only for us but also for our dog and cat. There we have rooms of us - a kitchen, dining area and sitting areas - and also lawn as play space for them. A small but abundant vegetable and herb garden expands in planter boxes on the garage wall. Fruit trees screen views and softens noise so we not only have privacy and solitude unexpected in city living, but also additional food sources for preserving and sharing.
