Remembering My Daughter Yvette on Mother's Day

Milwaukee, WI - May 8, 2011.

Today marks a special day for me, Mary Glass.
It is my day - Mother's Day - My Mother's Day and Buddie's Day.

For Buddie, My daughter, it marks 6 years and 8 months today of her ascending to heaven.

A special gift given by God on June 3, 1982, Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Beverly Hills, California, at 12:13am.

Fast forward 22 years -- Thursday, September 8, 2004, my beautiful, gifted daughter ascended to God, Manhattan, New York, on the FDR Freeway.

It is a day of Relationship - Relationship in wonderful memories. It reminds me of where I have come in the last five years in my thoughts - relationship with my child.

In 2006, I was asked by the Editor of Citi Gal Magazine to do an article on: Relationship, the relationship between Yvette and I.

My article gave SNAPSHOTS of a special relationship with my daughter that started in my womb and continues today in her tomb. Part I highlighted various relationships along the way during the pregnancy, my grief training, but most of all the blessings of Jesus that helped me open the window wide to the world of grief and the adjustment that is daily.

So, I say to the mothers that are like I am today, we have much to remember - much to be proud of. Be about the business of remembering the gift, your child, and those many, many pleasant moments.

Happy Mother's Day!
Mary Glass - Ma
