Animal Kingdom was on the board as a 20-1 bet.
Other oddities
He was not scheduled to run in the Derby. The Derby horse race is ran on a “dirt” track – Animal Kingdom is not a "dirt" racer. The first time was in this Derby.
The first jockey was replaced Friday. With all of this, I guess he said, a horse has to do what a horse has to do. He won by 2 ¾ lengths.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place – ANIMAL KINGDOM, NEHRO, MUCHO MACHO MAN.
