Affordable Health Care - Wellness and Savings - It is Everybody's commitment to know

MILWAUKEE (MPA) - The successful implementation of Affordable Health Care will depend on how well the public is aware of its services.  By being aware, it promotes buy-in of behavioral modification for wellness, linked communication of services between customers and care givers; and, a more realistic implementation of Exchanges by the state and federal government that is needed, transparent and best practices accountable.

January 1, 2014 is the date for full implementation of Affordable Health Care law by state or federally facilitated Exchanges.  It will open the door wide to the benefits and savings of Affordable Health Care in America.  It will also be a time of frustration, even panic, if we fail to educate the public.

We are already seeing benefits but so much is needed in "educating Americans" of what, who, how, where and when

Savings
It has been reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel huge savings and benefits for 49 million Americans.  In Wisconsin, over 59,000 Wisconsinites, hit the doughnut hole last year,  They received a 50% discount in prescription drugs.  There was an average savings of $639 per person and $37.9 million for the state of Wisconsin.  Additionally, 647,617 people in the state of Wisconsin received free preventive services or a free annual wellness visit with their doctor.   Did you know that?

The law was designed to provide immediate benefits, such as enabling children to stay on their parents' health plans until they are 26, before the major changes take effect in 2014.   So many students and children are reaping that benefit of this wise safety net.

"My business banker is 24 years old, haven't been too long gotten out of college, haven't been too long entered the workforce, and he was/is able to reap this health care safety net, said Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC.

Families with children were provided the immediate health care benefit prior to 2014 - children staying on their parents' health plans until they are 26.

15 Months
We have about fifteen months to get the house in order for full implementation.

Education and information sharing is at the top of the To Do list.  The more basic information  understood of how to access-navigate-improve services for implementation of the health Exchanges as well as customer/patient/care givers preventive behaviors, we will see increased wellness and huge cost-savings across the board.

It requires an All Hands on Deck, WE commitment.  We can not leave it up to someone else or a  hired/paid group to shoulder the full implementation.  We must all do our part because wellness and good-to-great health care for seniors-youth-young adults-middle age-babies-prenatal is how we will have a more productive society that is competitive in the global market.

Let us commit right now to become informed and to share the information with others.
