LABOR DAY - September 3, 2012

Labor Day is an American federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September (September 3 in 2012) that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.

Oregon was the first state to make it a holiday in 1887. By the time it became a federal holiday in 1894, thirty states officially celebrated Labor Day.

WE SALUTE ALL WORKERS, especially our Armed Services representatives now and in the past.

We also recognize the importance of All Hands on Deck in full-time employment, paying family supporting wages is paramount.  We also acknowledge engaging the Affordable Health Care law for better/best benefits to workers is part of the Recovery we have before us.

We support the election of President Barack Obama to help make full-employment a reality and to further improve the Affordable Health Care benefits.
