11,500 Manufacturing, Unemployment 7.4% - Says Gov. Scott Walker, fact or spin

Public Policy: Elected Officials

Squawk Box - CNBC - See if your facts add up to what

WI Governor Scott Walker
said this morning on Squawk Box CNBC. He was the guest host for 2 hours.

This morning on Squawk Box, the Governor of Wisconsin was engaged in "spin w-squawk". He gave the picture that he came from Milwaukee County (county executive)with such a glowing record of success - so successful he was elected 3 times. Along with the, "We are Moving On with great guns of progress Message". NOT.

Facts Checked at Door
Did anyone check the facts as to who voted for him? What the election totals were about? What the racial and unemployment climate was? How debt mounted and services were abandoned in the City of Milwaukee - the bulk of Milwaukee county.

What about the dismal shape Milwaukee County was in "while he was County Executive". And the dismal shape it was left in.

Bamboozled
Then, there are the many across the state that bought his hype. They, their children and grandchildren were bamboozled - they have now found religion - their expected nest eggs (savings, plans for future, retirement), was "kicked-to-the-curb" with NEW CLAIMS of "structural deficits and benefits" dismantling.

The overused and disingenuous claims/refrain by journalists and elected officials of "kicking the the can down the road" and "protecting our children's future" is "con".

Their children and their children's children will fall on a sword of spin. They have to first "make-it-to-tomorrow". With the greed, ME-and-ME, only the wealthy survive, pitting one-group-or-race-against another, spin such as this morning, scaring-the-hell-out-those who have bought into the con, and on and on; their children and grandchildren will be those that are culturally and racially disadvantaged - just like so many of us of color and work-challenged.

The NOW benefits that are called "entitlements and safety valves" - FEMA, social security benefits, etc., that Rep. Paul Ryan and Governor Walker "cream over and toss around" as must-go", will leave the uninformed standing with their mouths open as so many were when Walker came in with his powered senate and assembly voting machete. He in the stroke of a pen killed promised transportation employment and the sacred cow promise of "collective bargaining".

He did this without a blink of an eye - looking in the camera just as he did this morning. It is now a "passed law" and many who voted for him, have earned benefits and present jobs up-for-grab; as well as, "Recalls" that may cost upwards of $30 million.

He mention a couple times his allegiance with Rep. Paul Ryan - both of them have a short memory when it comes to government support to their families through social security and entitlements - they seem to have forgotten how social security and entitlements was their "bootrap economics with their families"

Who's Zooming
When Mother Nature finish destroying the housing-residential and commercial real estate of the towns-cites property stock, baby boomers succumb to older age and needed care, nest eggs and retirements plans eaten up by the ponzy schemes on wall street, main street and elected officials con street; they will curse the days of old - 2010-2011-2012 and so on.

The con games that are coming from our elected officials in the "NOW POWER" OF decision making is heavily in "kicking cans-families-legacies-the constitution-all laws that are human-civil-legal down-the-road, off-the-road,to meet their ends. It is about greed. It is about their wins; and your loss - that is if you are not part of their selective teams. Haves vs have nots.

Job seekers wait at a job fair Wednesday in Southfield, Mich. For most of the nation, May was the worst for job creation in 11 months. Wisconsin added only about 900 private-sector jobs last month.By John Schmid of the Journal Sentinel

After the year got off to a solid start, Wisconsin last month abruptly registered the slowest pace of job creation so far in 2011 while the unemployment rate inched higher to 7.4% from 7.3% in April. That is not anywhere near what it is for African American, other People of Color and the Work-Challenged - We are usually 5 times the minimun in census tracts of Milwaukee.

NEW jobs - 25,000
What is that all about? Where are these 25,000 jobs in Wisconsin? Who is reaping the benefits of these jobs? How much "dough" did the businesses that are BOOMING receive from the ARRA - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Stimulus? How many of the businesses are in Milwaukee (the highest unemployment) in the largest city of the state? Milwaukee, the place that Governor Walker touts about excellence for his Milwaukee administration? How much are these 25,000 people making? What are the positions? Are they temporary, seasonal or permanent? Do they come with affordable health benefits? Were they seasonal with other trends? And, on and on.

Secretary of Commerce
Perhaps someone can tell us how to get WI Secretary of Commerce - Paul Jadin, appointed December 30, 2010, and the newly formed WEDC - Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (Governor Scott Walker, Dan Ariens, Scott Klug, Lisa Mauer, Rep. Peter Barca, Paul Radspinner, Raymond Dreger, C. Thomas Sylke, Sen. Randy Hopper, Don Webber, Corey Hoze, Rep. Mary Williams, Sen. Julie Lassa, Mike Huebsch and Richard Chandler), to respond to us at Milwaukee Professionals Association to help ensure that African American, other People of Color and the Work-Challenged (All Hands on Deck, WE, Not Me Initiative) are "in the loop" to truly impact debt and the economy.

Wisconsin job growth hits skid in May; slowdown bodes ill for Walker goal - BUSINESS - By John Schmid of the Journal Sentinel

According to Jake's Economic TA Funhouse (http://jakehasablog.blogspot.com/2011/06/jobs-walkers-wisconsin-is-losing-its.html) you can see some different dialog and stats.

For sure, his bump or bubble escaped African American, other People of Color and the Work-Challenged.

Take a look and see what you think?

Note: I found CEO/Chairman McCoy disingenuous with the 3,000 number at first(prior to explanation) and the failure to mention that his company's negotiations started two years ago under the administration of Jim Doyle. To Scott Walker's credit, he mentioned that it was his predecessor.

These are the nooks and crannies of misrepresentation that too many times go unnoticed. We are mentioning them today.
