RE-VISITED, RE-PURPOSED, Horton Hears a Who

HORTON HEARS A WHO was adopted by Campaign Neighborhood - CFNBA - April 30, 2008.

An effort of endurance and determination

Thanks to dialog with '''Ms. Avis Nichols''', New York Life agent, we have adopted the "Horton Hears A Who"' Philosophy for the 5-Year Signature Plan Stakeholders Alliance and Milwaukee Professionals Association.

It is an All-for-one and One-for-all "commitment.''

Essentially, it says if there is to be success, we will need to speak up and speak out in a single LOUD VOICE, to be heard.

CAMPAIGN NEIGHBORHOOD - CFNBA has taken on the role of "Horton" and the "Whos" are ALL Milwaukeeans, especially People of Color and the Working Poor - young, senior, fixed-income, disabled, retired, un-employed, under-employed, family member, re-entry citizen from incarceration, W-2 recipient, college graduate, boy-girl scouts, honor students, dropout student, teen parent, property owner, veteran, homeless, sick-and-shut in, sports enthusiast, business owner, minister, church member, school parent, school staff, block watcher, safety officer, poll watcher and on and on.

It says, no one can speak for you like you with the Whos.
It says if you are the chosen leader, spokesperson, representative, you must have the assurance that you have the backing of the many; and, understand that your journey on behalf of the many can and often will be fraught with challenges.

It is then, that determination, commitment and passion kicks into over-drive and the "All-for-one and One-for all" is bench-marked. It is where the line of responsibility, moral will and authenticity takes form and success is born time-and-time after time.

Horton Hears A Who is taken from the 1954 Dr. Seuss story of Horton Hears A Who.

REPURPOSING - Re-defining, Re-branding and Un-trapping Milwaukeeans at the neighborhood level

On August 27, 2011, Milwaukee Professionals Association launched Safety Matters Response Network SATURDAY TALK, a re-visit to WHY.

It is centered around bringing a PROACTIVE approach to the forefront from the recent and not-so-recent revolt/protests in violence by youth-teens-young adults.

The CASE Learning of Saturday Talk is a venture into some of what HORTON and the WHOS went through. WHY?

Starting September 10, 2011, we will start the first team out in discovery. We will look at the "legal" end from the public defender's office. The legal guest facilitator is: Attorney Tom Reed - Head of the Criminal Office of WI Public Defender's office.

We look forward to excitement, case study, intelligent commenting and evaluation of opinions and facts.

Epistemology - WHY?
The story (Horton Hears a Who) raises questions about the nature of human knowledge and what is necessary to justify a claim to have knowledge of something. These issues are discussed in the philosophical field of epistemology.

Epistemology investigates the theory of knowledge; specifically, its origin and nature. We may know something but sometimes find it difficult to explain why; we may know something to be true when others know it to be false. Epistemology engages in trying to help us explain why and how we identify our knowledge.
