UW-Milwaukee Freshwater Founding Dean comes in Under Cloud of Distrust due to DISCRIMINATION

Dr. David Garman - Graduate School of Freshwater Sciences Founding Dean

SEPTEMBER 1, 2011 - Milwaukee, WI, Today, the NEWLy selected Founding Dean of the Graduate School of Freshwater Sciences takes his position/appointment and begins the life/history of a new addition to the University of WI - Milwaukee campus.

His name is Dr. David E. J. Garman.
He is from Australia - Eveleigh, New South Wales.
A Scientist that specialized in water resources and pollution control.
He comes to Milwaukee with great expectations given his 15-year position as Executive Director of EBCRC/Environmental Biotechnology Cooperative Research Centre. His work at EBCRC allowed interaction with researchers, industry practitioners and engineers for discoveries.

According to the website, Dr. Garman's academic environment(staff and board) is devoid of African Americans and other People of Color as defined by the City of Milwaukee majority cultures.

In fact, until 1973, The White Australia policy comprised various historical policies that intentionally restricted "non-white" immigration to Australia from 1901 to 1973.

There is something to be said about the fact that this Australian scientist is coming into Milwaukee with more rights of access and information than those of us who help pay his salary.

So, why is it a CLOUD OF DISTRUST?
Where does the Discrimination come in?
===================================

It is through the OPEN DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINT against the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, President Kevin Reilly, Interim Chancellor/Chancellor Michael Lovell and UW-Milwaukee selection committees wrongdoing that included conflict of interest, violation of state statute 36.01(2) and DISCRIMINATION against African American and other People of Color.

The School of Freshwater Sciences also has an exclusion of African American and People of Color in its partnerships, staff, seminars, consultants and selection process of the Founding Dean.

Therefore, the School of Freshwater Science is suspect, named in the OPEN COMPLAINT and will be under scrutiny in the public square over the next year for appropriate changes, said Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, Milwaukee Professionals Association. "During the next 12 months, he will have an opportunity to remove the CLOUD of distrust and discrimination."
