Do you like to help vets, like to drive, live near Madison?

The VA Hospital in Madison needs drivers as they've lost a number of volunteers. This impact veterans who need care!

They use two vehicles purchased by the Disabled American Veterans and transferred to the VA.  The van makes about 600 trips (a pick-up and a return home for one veteran is counted as two trips) and logs 1,600 miles.  Their other Madison-based van does Milwaukee VA Hospital runs on Mondays, Fridays and occasionally on Wednesdays, and like to add two more days of service if driver availability and passenger demand picks up. efferson County and in Rockford and Freeport, Illinois.)

For any of you  who are interested, their program requires a completed volunteer application, TB screening and background check (for all volunteers), and a medical exam, current drivers license and auto insurance (for volunteer drivers).  Enclosing five documents that make up their volunteer driver application packet.

The application process may seem a bit cumbersome or bureaucratic, but they  help in any way we can to make it easy.

So help our vets needing to get healthcare in Madison, and we will give you a cup of coffee here for thanks!
