MILWAUKEE BOARD OF HEALTH is Missing in the forefront of COVID-19
Here's the deal, NO one in our leadership positions - Governor-County Executive-Mayor had their brain turned on. We can say the same thing about our designated leaders of the PUBLIC SAFETY & HEALTH COMMITTEE of the city of Milwaukee and the Bucks leadership.
Kisten Johnson, Milwaukee Health Department Commissioner, and Tom Barrett, mayor, were enamored by two tickets from the Bucks if people came down.
The Final game brought in 20,000-65,000 excited folks yelling, spitting, drinking, and eating without any protection - REMINDERS, and mandates – mask-wearing, distancing, sanitizing, vaccination, and massive jumbotron safety ads were not seen. The densely packed individuals were both inside and outside.
The DEER District became a petri dish for the Delta Variant.
Where are the Nine (9) of you? You were asked and you accepted to serve as Board of Health representatives for the People. Then serve you must.
Unfortunately, I am disappointed when I see qualified folks (according to BIO) in leadership positions of boards failing to “make a difference” – taking up space.
Yes. There are reports slated from the mayor’s office and commissioner of health, and Polco input.
There was no information for you to base substance – nor for us the People. Therefore, I feel the board “knew not” of the substance of the reports. You must be treated with due diligence and importance in decision-making. We have folks sick and dying. We have you there representing us.
The American Rescue Plan information should have been visible.
What do you ask of each of us for accountability?
DR. IAN MARTIN, as the “medical expert” on the team, we expect top-notch healthcare in emergency medicine for starters from you to help guide the team medically. The Medical College of WI is constantly noted in the public square. It receives a lot of funding on behalf of People of Color.
As a matter of fact, Dr. Ben Weston, MCW, is on the COVID Briefing on Tuesday and Thursday to represent MCW. He and Darren Rausch, Greenfield, should be working with your group for clarity and continuity.
ERICKA SINCLAIR, Board VP, we are depending on you to come to the table with hands-on specifics to help us have a healthier city since you have decades of intersectionality.

BURICH-WEATHERLY, Board President, do your
leadership for process and procedures give to the rising tide of the COVID
virus spiked at the DEER District? What
are you bringing to the table for scrutiny of Peter Feigin, Buck’s President
and Host of the NBA Final as well as Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner? They sent out an OPEN INVITE for a throng of
folks 20k-65K to gather but provided NO thoughts for public health during the
COVID-19 Pandemic. VISIT MILWAUKEE had a
hand in this fiasco. What do you have
for them?

The Agenda calls for attending the meeting with a telephone. Since “landlines” are NOT the norm, who’s idea was this? Especially since cost and charging the telephone should be factored.

It is reported that most Milwaukeeans do NOT have high-speed Wi-Fi. This is one of the main items you should have for the American Rescue Plan funding. By having access, then the website and online references will make sense and provide linkage for commitment.
