Reilly Out - Cross in, UW System needs Re-boot of Inclusion of African Americans

President  Ray Cross - UW System
MADISON | On January 9, 2013, Wisconsin Board of Regents selected the next University of Wisconsin System leader, Ray Cross,  Chancellor of the UW Colleges and UW Extension.

“Too often, as folks from the academy, we tend to lecture others instead of listening to them,” Cross said. “Listening, to me, is the first part of this. I think we need to be much better at it than we are.”  Journal Times.

"In addition to the scandal under ex-President Kevin Reilly watch, the university system has incurred a few issues in the last three years with the removal of the University of Wisconsin - Madison Chancellor Biddy Martin in a controversy between her and Governor Scott Walker to separate UW-Madison from the other universities in the system - Million dollar man Barry Alverez salary boast ($500,000).  In addition, the stacked-deck hiring of Chancellor Michael Lovell, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and THEIR arrogance when approached for information and inclusion of African American and People of Color at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee".

Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC  has re-committed this year 2014 to address the "exploitation" of massive $$millions brought to the table by African American and People of Color but have been absolutely left out the UW-Milwaukee Master plan.  So, President Cross has his work cut out from him.  His above quote has the gust of a breath of fresh air.  However, words are one thing for the media, let's see what his words mean in actions, said Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC.

Kevin Reilly, held the position for 9 years.  His tenure ended on December 31, 2013.  Reilly was ousted after the audit fury of hundreds of millions "found in reserved" after repeated increases/gouging of student tuition in the University of Wisconsin system.
