FCC Broadband update sounds very promising for URBAN neighborhoods

Backstory - January 9, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC - Julius Genachowski, Chairman of the FCC/Federal Communication Commission announced NEW developments through the FCC to expand the opportunities to help CLOSE the DIGITAL DIVIDE.

"It is great to hear of upcoming opportunities that have been adrift since 2005/6", said Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, Milwaukee Professionals Association. "We worked back in 2005/6 on measures through FREEPRESS as well as on the local level to help see that strong emphasis was placed on connecting the half-million population to the internet. Mayor Tom Barrett, Common Council Chairman Willie Hines and the full Common Council have faltered badley in helping to ensure technology attainment in Milwaukee."
