10th District Alderman MICHAEL MURPHY calls for the mayor to re-open City Hall

For What?

Where did MICHAEL MURPHY, 1Oth District Alderman, City of Milwaukee get his prognosis regarding "ALL RETURN" TO CITY HALL DUE TO "IMPACT" AT THIS TIME?

". . .but while the virus remains present, the bigger picture signs are encouraging. The average positivity rate remains below 5%, hospitalizations continue to be low, and the amount of people who are partially or fully vaccinated continues to steadily increase".

"Because of these factors, I am calling on the Mayor to expedite the process of re-opening City Hall to the public. In March I called for Milwaukee Public Schools to resume in-person learning at a time when the science dictated it was safe to do so, and I believe the same logic applies here. Our health experts have deemed it appropriate for fans to watch sporting events in-person, for public places such as museums to be open, and for bars and restaurants to operate with proper precautions in place".

"I believe if it is safe for residents to visit a museum, dine out, or patronize other local businesses while following proper safety measures, then they should also be able to visit City Hall while following those same safety guidelines".

MAYBE IF HE VISITED HIS AFRICAN AMERICAN CONSTITUENTS IN THE 10TH DISTRICT, HE WOULD KNOW THERE IS A HELLUVA IMPACT and much more have to be analyzed before "RETURNING TO business as usual". For example, THE Johnson & Johnson SCARE and LACK OF NECESSARY requirement for PROCESS AND PROCEDURES - family doctor, insurance, travel capability, funding, and feeling comfortable with health practitioners in the marketplace.

According to Milwaukee Health Department, the COVID-19 spread is ON.

As far as RETURNING TO CITY HALL - DUE TO THE DIFFICULTY OF VISITING 200 E. WELLS - PARKING - WHO IS HE REFERRING TO? HE MENTIONED THE "PEOPLE'S HOUSE". THAT'S FUNNY, CITY HALL DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THE "PEOPLE'S HOUSE" - THOSE WITHIN THE 96.8 SQUARE MILES ARE NOT TREATED AS THE OWNERS OF THE COFFERS - checkout the Couture and Milwaukee Tool millions that were given without their consent.

"In instances such as these, the City should always lead by example. An important part of returning to a normal, post-pandemic environment is starting to take the appropriate steps in that direction, and now is the time to re-open the people’s house to the public".

MPA-LLC submits that it is a "pre-mature" call for African Americans and Latinos.

MICHAEL MURPHY, 10th District Alderman needs to do his "homework" for inclusion of the most vulnerable populations in his district and Milwaukee.
