CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE ||  Today we salute Tracy K. Smith - the 2017 Poet Laureate of the Library of Congress.  She exudes a warmth that comes from the quiet of poems, literature, and writings.  We are introducing or reintroducing you to her - An American Poet.

Tracy K. Smith is an American poet and educator. Smith has been writing poetry for more than 30 years and published three books of verse. Now, she will follow in the footsteps of some of the most well-known U.S. poets, including Rita Dove, Louise Gluck, Billy Collins, W.S. Merwin, Charles Simic, and Juan Felipe Herrera.  She has published three collections of poetry, winning the Pulitzer Prize for her 2011 volume Life on Mars.Wikipedia
