Arrow Park - DONTRE HAMILTON was killed by Police |
We support Neighborhood patrol and policing. We have questions regarding monopoly-oligopoly management of our government by ad hoc powerbrokers; i.e., Milwaukee 7, Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce, Greater Milwaukee Committee, Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation Board and what appears to be slush funds for certain non-profit organizations; i.e., Safe and Sound.
We have questions regarding overtime and increased law enforcement funding without "evidenced=based" merits, taken to the People, not just the Fire and Police Commission. In fact, all commissions, committees and authorities need to be vetted for credibility, relevance and length in office. We have enough people to go around. We do not need career commission, committee and authority members - NEW BLOOD.
We frown on arbitrary and capricious vetting of our land and resources that fail to seek the endorsement of the People.
We feel that Respect-4-Respect starts and end with All - NO one is Exempt. Too many brutalities, vulgar and penetrating of the private parts, excessive force, accidental killings and out-right murders by those hired to uphold the law as our law enforcers. It has happened so frequently that it appears it is seen as OK. It is not OK.
We must look at many angles to the "WHY". Whatever the reason, it MUST STOP.
We call for All Hands on Deck, WE CAN in this effort to help ensure that we are looking at all possible avenues of change in BEHAVIORS - mental, physical, emotional, and learned for successful REFORM at the infrastructure level of quality of life and economic upward mobility.
Milwaukee will become the national Urban city for turnaround if we step-up for the test.
MARCHING ORDERS for Mayor and Common Council
We start with them aggressively showing actions of working with the citizenry in a calm, informed, respectful, reporting and resolute fashion to stem the tide of unacceptable behavior from the Milwaukee Police Department; while equally working to build TRUST and HOPE in the citizenry and with the citizenry to put 100% safety and economic development on the table at the census tract and neighborhood level.
The mayor and common council are to set the tone for city of Milwaukee healing. To make this real, we tie it to the people giving "marching orders" to give the mayor and each common council seat to someone else come 2016 - or before. YES. This is serious.
NEED EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT when RELEASED |
You have not done one thing to overcome the disparity in hiring and employment in Milwaukee.
We did the 2010 DWilson study and you have allowed more of the same. This is one of the major points for judging your worth.
You promised a broadband system back around 2006, you have done nothing. The majority of Milwaukeeans do not have access to the internet - that's criminal; especially since EVERYTHING is through this medium.
This is another point of grading for your seat for 2016.
Outsourcing our jobs and land is a NO, NO. Your charity and leadership begins at home with the over half-million Milwaukeeans first.
You say, Construction is what you are about, let's see what you are made of. Put some specifics on the table that have teeth and can be monitored with evidence; Northwestern Mutual and Downtown Dental need prerequisites to help them be good neighbors.
In other words, you are being given a "PRE" termination notification - "term-limit" in 2016 and scrutiny from now until then as a bargaining chip. No longer can we have "turning a blind-eye", "blaming the victim", "postering in front of the media", "releasing phony press releases", "ducking-and-dodging the truth", "awarding big bucks for NOTHING", "securing your cronies", and "business as usual".
And, NO, we do not need additional laws to gum-up the system more. The laws need to be re-visted for MERIT, REASONABLENESS, JUSTICE, and today's environment. And, those that harm more than help, should be erased.
It is a NEW DAY |
The 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act has come and gone, July 2, 2014, it guarantees liberties that we are not seeing.
We the People, are here to support your efforts on-the-merits.
Since we know your tactics, do not surface unless you are for real - and, do not take forever to surface.
We, the People, have provided you with funds to operate, researches, state-of-the-art tools to work with, high-priced staff, and length in office to know what you should be doing. Now, Deliver.
Incarceration has surpassed an epidemic and talking level, it demands serious LIKE-MINDS working for and getting REFORM. African American families have been torn to sheds through neglect and RACISIM. Enough already.
MILWAUKEEANS ARRESTED - DERRICK KILLED |
CHILDREN OF THE INCARCERATED |
The Family - Women, men, fathers, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, uncles, grandfathers, brothers and sisters |
Background
The road that leads to where we are today is paved with the following twenty-five (25) reasons for overcrowding the prison system and destroying the lives of African American, People of Color and Work Challenged* in the city of Milwaukee. The mega difference of incarcerated African American males in Wisconsin, Milwaukee and 53206 is indescribable. Click
The reasons are:
- Accumulation of "RAP sheets” - myriad of wrongful stopping and reasons why but not reasons for Misdemeanors and Felonies
- Antiquated laws and RECIDIVISM (prevention/intervention)
- Arbitrary and capricious enforcement of rules and regulations in our law enforcement-to-justice system
- CONFUSING "tough-on-Crime-with-misguided-and-unbridled-fear"
- Crowded court schedules
- Cutting deals and/or PLEADINGS
- Discrimination and LACK of DUE PROCESS
- Disregard for the rights of a defendant
- Disrespect and disdain for defendant
- Drug trading and drug consumption laws
- Exploitation
- Guilty-before-found-guilty enforcement of the law
- Influence and persuasion of the $$$dollar - mega bucks (law enforcement overtime and mega prisons)
- Lack of Census Tract-Neighborhood Patrol for Infrastructure Standards, Monitoring and Accountability
- Lack of insight, knowledge, sensitivity and detachment by those making decisions – ELECTED officials, APPOINTED officials, law enforcement, attorneys, judges (all levels)
- Lack of legal representation
- Media coverage and media bias
- Misguided laws regarding drugs
- Mismatch recordkeeping
- Profiling
- RACISM
- Stereotyping
- TRUTH and SENTENCING and other ambiguous "got cha" laws
- Unlawful search and seizures
- Unrealistic expectations of INCARCERATION
