Heads-up - IT Environment, A Must

City Center Milwaukee | Day 92 | On the ninety-second day of the 4-Month Invoked Atonement and Reparation assessment, the emphasis of Atonement and Reparation continues to look at the area of IT - Information T*echnology

IT is a missing link in the puzzle of re-defining, re-branding and UN-trapping hidden talent and vetted businesses at the census tract and neighborhood level.

Lack of access and literacy of the internet puts the stakeholders of Milwaukee's majority population, People of Color and  Work Challenged, at a huge disadvantage in quality of life and economic development rules, regulations, awards, legislations, alerts, deadlines, and economic upscalability.  We use expensive telephones everyday without understanding how there are Apps for health care, health wellness, banking, finance management, employment, competitiveness and the like are at our fingertips.  Yes.  Music is also a option - it is NOT the only option.

What can we do?
Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC is a firm believer that baseline funding has been put in place and other resources are in place (sites, space, trainers and additional funding) to jumstart capacity building.  What is not in place and must be corrected are the right footprints by the end-user in strategic planning and decision making for census tract and neighborhood level infrastructure.  This bodyprint would help ensure that the framework includes a 97 square mile - city-wide emphasis for online capability.  This could be a combination of access points through cable and cloud architecture.  It requires leadership - hands on leadership from those who will benefit from the use - the End-users.

Working with cable, cellular, dish and computer manufacturing companies and creating a collaborative footprint for Milwaukee is a MUST.

Our first stop is the city of Milwaukee Public Library.  During the months of July and August 2014, a thorough highlight is placed on RIGHT-NOW Upscalability in IT.

Center Street Library, 2727 W. Center is the lead site.  It is befitting since Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC was the strategic planner with the idea of moving to a CDBG driven budget to keep the library open as well as hosting memorable events and hearings at the site to promote residential and commercial upward mobility; i.e., Community Development Block Grant neighborhood strategic plan in 1993, Smart Growth Initiative, Fond du Lac Restoration Plan, 1st Milwaukee Urban Main Street project, 1st Master Gardener Program - UW-M Extension, Quilting and Sewing, Super Kmart Project and Use of Computers.

Stay tuned.
