MILWAUKEE (MPA-PPR) - Today, MPA LLC added 6 other Health Care sites for evaluation for the Affordable Health Care Insurance for Milwaukeeans.  We are adding photo and introduction of Aurora Sinai Medical Center - name given in October 25, 2012 Health Industry blog.

ORAL HEALTH CARE
It has been reported that over 100 million Americans lack oral health care due to not having dental insurance.  It is also reported that health care and wellness is impacted due to the lack of access to dental care; i.e., heart and lung disease, diabetes, preterm birth and stroke.

Families without health care insurance has found themselves often in high cost and little care from "emergency rooms" due to episodic bouts with pain - knowledge of dental care, untreated gum and teeth decay.  

So when we look at barriers to wellness as we address behavioral health, electronic health records for regular primary care monitoring of health care, strategic planning for intervention and prevention as well as cost savings; we must factor in regular visits to the dentist.  

We can create in our insurance plans, policy provisions, that include health insurance coverage that has a dental plan to cover family teeth and gum.  Since we know that physical conditions have a direct relation, wiseness says it should be incorporated in holistic health care and wellness of the entire family - baby teeth forward.

Therefore, MPA LLC has included dental clinics in Phase I.
Additionally, since ongoing education and planning is necessary for our city and county services,  
the city of Milwaukee Health Department and Milwaukee County Health and Human Services has been included for Phase I.

Dental Clinics - 6 sites

Children’s Hospital Dental Clinic

Children's Dental Center has two (2) locations:

• Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Clinics Building.
  • 13-chair clinic.
  • About 70 percent of patients are healthy children from various socioeconomic, racial and cultural backgrounds.
  • About 30 percent of patients have complicated issues such as a physical or mental challenge, or a medical condition.
• Downtown Health Center, Milwaukee.
  • Eight-chair clinic.
  • Most children are from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • The program emphasizes resident-community involvement, including understanding of poverty and barriers encountered by families with limited financial means.

Both clinics are fully prepared to manage the comprehensive needs of children and adolescents. Children's Hospital also has 17 operating rooms that may be used for dental cases. Three of these rooms are located in Day Surgery, where the vast majority of dental general anesthesia cases occur. Two mobile operating and supply carts, along with a mobile X-ray machine, are available for operating rooms cases.  Click

Columbia St Mary – St. Elizabeth

OverviewThe St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dental Clinic (formerly Madre Angela Dental Clinic) is a collaborative program sponsored by Columbia St. Mary's (CSM) to provide dental care to people in poverty without access to care. The Clinic functions as the only provider of urgent dental care in Milwaukee for people without insurance except for the BadgerCare Core Plan. The Clinic also provides restorative care, dental appliances, dental hygiene services and a comprehensive school-based oral health program.

The Clinic provided 11,072 dental encounters in 2007. A third of the care provided was urgent care for people who walked into the clinic on referral from emergency departments, shelters, treatment centers and community programs. More than 100 dentures were also provided to people for whom oral functioning was extremely impaired or for whom employment options would be greatly improved by a better appearance. School-based oral health was given to 2,565 children. In 2007, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dental Clinic became the largest provider of School-based oral health in Wisconsin. Click here for more details to the oral health program. Marquette Community Dental Clinics - 2 locations

Marquette University School of Dentistry is proud to run two community dental clinics that are dedicated to provideing for the oral health care needs of low-income residents and to expanding the clinical opportunities for dental students.  Full-time faculty members oversee each clinic. 

The School of Dentistry’s clinics serve nearly 20,000 patients annually with more than 80,000 patient visits. As one of the Wisconsin’s largest dental Medicaid providers, MUSoD provides care for more than 6,700 Medicaid patients each year.

Marquette University Community Dental Clinic - NORTH

Located in the lower level of the Chase Bank building, this newly opened, 500 sq. foot state-of-the-art clinic is dedicated to serving the north side of Milwaukee.  This 10-chair clinic serves adolescents and adults five days a week.
