MILWAUKEE (MPA)
MONDAY Morning, July 30, 2012, the latest update on the Can-Do "bottom-up" economic engines from the 190 neighborhoods of Milwaukee is the announcement that August is Communication month.

We know that INNOVATION is a key part of its creation. Likewise, we know that in order for it to truly change the physical infrastructure of the city of Milwaukee, it is important that stakeholders-stockholder-shareholders-taxpayers are in the loop for all communications.

African American slaves in the United States were "innovators" during a time they were forbidden to talk, read and travel; and under threat of being severely beaten, sold and/or lynched. They still had to "rise". So, they put in place, 1) Grapevine (word-of-mouth); and the, 2) Underground Railroad (routes and safe network).  The Grapevine was shared talk/discussion for information sharing. They were also able to escape slavery and travel through the underground railroad network to freedom. Their stategic planning, channel development, risk management and quality control efficiency can and will be used as 2012 tools to set in place and build a bottom-up affluence.

We will seek resources (newspapers, blogs, newsletters, block clubs, neighborhood strategic planning, business improvement districts) at the neighborhood level to be aggressive and to be innovators in putting in place the networks.

Let's get to work.

Milwaukee Professionals Association invites you to JOIN us at the neighborhood level and help make needed history in Urban Milwaukee.
