EDUCATION for the People in Milwaukee – Lunch & LEARN BRT Briefings by MPA LLC
Information sharing crucial for the approval of federal Small Start funding

City Center Milwaukee | Lunch & Learn – Wednesday, May 25, 2016 | Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC will convene the first of three forums to promote transparency in access of citizen-electorate-ridership engagement in Milwaukee County Transit System proposed BRT/Bus Transit Small Start application.

The forums are to be held in May, June and July, 2016 to correspond with the fast-paced timeline presented by MCTS to the public on April 12th and April 14th, 2016.  The people’s response was overwhelmingly against the East/West BRT Alternative because it did not address the access/connection/employment/education of ridership areas of need, no real significance of faster travel time beyond present travel time and too costly.   There was also concern about the lack of the completion of MCTS Feasibility Study, but quick timeline of the Small Starts application to submit to the Federal Transit Administration in August, 2016 - given the April, 2016 introduction to the taxpayers.

“We know that the citizenship-ridership engagement has been extremely lacking, this is our effort to inform the taxpayers,” said Mary Glass, Chief Visionary Officer, MPA LLC.

The consultant groups AECOM, HNTB and SAG/Stakeholders Advisory Group (representatives of local governments – City of Milwaukee, City of Wauwatosa and County of Milwaukee) are asked to help sponsor seats for the ridership and taxpayers to the 3 briefings.  The LUNCH & LEARN Introduction for May 25, 2o16 is held at:
