Empowering Asian American Families: Saving :Lives Through Education & Screening

CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || Saturday's training and screening was a treat to the participants of the Milwaukee Consortium for Hmong Health conference focusing on:

  • Breast & Cervical Cancer
  • Hepatitis B and Liver Cancer
  • Colon Cancer
  • 2nd Generation Diabetes
  • Healthy Lifestyle
  • Hypertension
Men, women, students and young adults were given the keynote message by Dr. Kevin Koobmoov Thao -  Associate Professor at the UW Department of Family Medicine & 
Faculty Clinician - UW Aspirus Wausau Family Medicine 

Residency program.

The breakout presenters were:
  • Dr. Ia Kue - Lifetime Family Care, Warren, MI
    • Topic:  Hepatitis B & Liver Cancer
  • Duachy Vang, PhD Nurse Practitioner, Issac Coggs Heritage Health Center
    • Topic:  Second Generation Diabetes
  • Dr George "Nai" Lor, Lor Chiropractic, LLC
    • Healthy Lifestyle
  • Rachel Her, 3rd Year Medical Student, UW School of Medicine and Public Health
    • Topic:  Hypertension
  • Kong Her, Masters of Physician Assistant & Masters of Public Health, Aurora Health Care
    • Clinical Breast Exam
The hospitality of being welcome started at the Registration Desk and further shared personally with Mayhoua Moua, Executive Director, Milwaukee Consortium for Hmong Health.

Tasty food and entertainment from Hmong students were festive.

The screening was filled with information and gift takeaways.

Many vendors.
