8 selected neighborhoods in Milwaukee of ACA DEMO
"Immersed learning" at the census tract and neighborhood level working with a Demo project of 8 neighborhoods to look at the implementation of Affordable Health Care.  The three (3) rewards are:  1) What each student gets from the experience, 2) What residential and commercial stakeholders receive; and, 3) What can be shared with others for the "greater good" regarding the 9-month experience.

POD
MPA LLC case learning is realized through POD implementation.
A "pod" is a self-contained group of a minimum of 10 students that self-promote their success.
Each "pod" has 2 other working pods and a leader.  They are:
  • Family School Pod/FSP
    • Lead pod team for project (projects change every 2 months)
  • Neighboring School Pod/NSP
    • Members from one or more of the 8 neighborhoods
  • DEMO Neighborhood Pod/DNP
    • 8-member DEMO neighborhoods
  • MPA Protagonist
    • Mary Glass
College level students are connected as a team to each lead family pod and neighboring pod from the university-college-technical school; young adults and vetted talent are selected for DEMO Neighborhood pods and interns to work with MPA staff.

Case-Method Learning

Our blend of "Slices-of-life" in Milwaukee urban health care, webinars, social networking, pod-casting, pod team-building of a virtual library of the research and documentary reviews for blogs and videos is our aim.  The creation is All Hands on Deck, WE CAN driven.  The students will drive the project through their creativity and review of barriers to success of improved health, health care and cost-containment.
