Occupy UW-Milwaukee - School of Freshwater Sciences, Water Stewardship North America Regional Initiative

November 1, 2011

MILWAUKEE, WI - School of Freshwater Sciences, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee was the site for hosting the first meeting of the Water Stewardship North American Regional Initiative.

The information shared at this time is to show how the iconic city of Milwaukee residential and neighborhood-level stakeholders were "embarassed, disrespected and discriminated against by Insiders.

The city of Milwaukee has a population of over a half-million people, the majority are People of Color - African American, Latino, Asian and American Indian. The population further represents all races and ethnicity called: Work Challenged.

Milwaukee Professionals Association identify "Work Challenged" to be un-, under-skilled; un-, under-employed; un-, under-financed neighborhood-level businesses, disabled, and Re-entry (returning from WAR, INCARCERATION, boomerang employment, boomerang retirement, boomerang un-employed graduates).

It is these folk in the City of Milwaukee that were left out by-design.
They were left out by local participants:

-- University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Chancellor Michael Lovell
-- University of Wisconsin Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences Founding Dean, Dr. David Garman
-- University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Continuing Education and Alliance of Water Stewardship/ North America Regional Initiative, Attorney Lisa Downes
-- University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Continuing Education Dean, Patricia Arredondo

========================================

The Milwaukee Water Council was formed over 2 years ago.

It is important to note that the above Caucasian Board of Directors - "Insiders", are some of the same ones you will find as members of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce, Greater Milwaukee Committee, Milwaukee 7, UW System, UW Foundation, other committees, council, panel, boards, etc. They appoint each other and "keep it among their cronies".

For example, Dan Bader - Bader Foundation, is chair of UW-Milwaukee Research Foundation.
=========================================

They are leveraging, grantwriting, matching, making "un-authorized" decisions and partnering with the government funds based on the population of Milwaukee and their URBAN public university. Yet, People of Color and the Work Challenged have been disrespected and left-out "by-design". That is criminal and arbitrary and capricious.

The Time is Now - Occupy UW-Milwaukee and UW System.
