AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN take note of Safety in HEALTH CARE to ensure SELF PRESERVATION

MARCH 3, 2023

CLEVELAND, OHIO || Planners with biennial capital budgets in mind call on the leaders in Columbus, Ohio to help with self-preservation for women.

Self-care is a vital practice for black women and women of colour.

It is about finding inner peace in a world of chaos.  A world that is violent towards black bodies and identities.   One that ignore and perpetuates black pain and suffering.

Self-cure is an act that is defiant because it is about putting your needs, expectations and well-being above others.  It is about preservation and acting in resistance to societal expectations. As the great African American feminist writer, Audre Lorde Project, eloquently said:

“When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So, it is better to speak.
