NOT TOO BIG TO FAIL - Fall

The best leaders inspire by example. When that is not an option, BRUTE intimidation works pretty well, too

Fess up, Clean up
There is the assumption that when one of our large institutions (public and private) or a well-known community leader, politician, minister or celebrity are called into "check", depending on the $$$ signs that are attached or how well-received the person and/or institution is, the delay can be short or long.

But whether short or long, no matter what the cover-ups are and who provides them; it is more than safe to say, NO one or NO institution is too big to fail. The house of cards fall - often due to a minute misstep or super arrogance wedded to unwise thinking and behavior.

In today's climate, the "greed" signs are everywhere. Me, Me, and Me is the standard bearer. Ethics, civility, citizenship, integrity and moral will have taken an extended holiday.

Take-overs, buy-outs, bail-outs, hedge funding and ponzi schemes of late have proven the point. Real estate barons, corporate high-steppers, philantrophic buyers/brokers, elected high risk rollers and gaming power brokers are on the prowl. It is the unwise thought of the perpetrators that is narcissistic that tips the scale - name recognition, thinking that everyone loves him/her, thinking they are too powerful - office, name, money, reputation, that makes them vulnerable and trips the switch of "GOTCHA".

Since cronyism and power-networks have some staying power, often the gatekeepers will buy-in, en masse, for the long-haul. They are the first ones thrown under the bus.

You can pretty much predict the script of "pressure".
At first, there are the handlers (ones thrown under the bus) - lack of response to No response - followed by vagueness, mumbo jumbo, misrepresentation, denial - followed by cover-ups, arm-twisting, vindictiveness, calling in political and other favors/markers, and the smoking gun - "lawyering up".

Stay tuned.
