SEVENTY-SEVEN YEARS AGO, Czeslawa Kwoka, a 14 year old teenager was murdered

 OCTOBER 1, 2020
MPA PUBLIC REVIEW || MILWAUKEEThe photo is Czeslawa Kwoka, a Polish Catholic, a 14-year-old girl, a child. She died in Auschwitz extermination camp on February 18 1943 with a phenol injection [a mildly acidic toxic white crystalline solid obtained from coal tar and used in chemical manufacture, and in dilute form (under the name carbolic ) as a disinfectant] in her heart.

====================>

I look at this young girl's face and see - horror frozen at rest - in her face. It has come because of the "hate" of her people - Jewish and Polish. I share her with you, said Mary Glass

====================>

Shortly before the execution, she was photographed by the prisoner Whilem Brasse. Brasse, subsequently went on to testify against Kwoka's executioner.
The photo is the face of a terrified child, who didn't even speak the language of her executioners and who lost her mother a few days before.
She was one of about 250.000 children and underage that were executed in Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is such a powerful photograph on so many levels, the eyes are the gateway to the soul.
The photo, originally black and white at Memorial Oświęcim, was colored by professional photographer Mirek Spznoar who was impressed by Czeslawa's photo and decided to put it in color and available for everyone.
Reflection required.

THE FREEDOM RIDERS - THE YOUNG ACTIVISTS

Who Were the Freedom Riders?

Representative John Lewis was among the 13 original Freedom Riders, who encountered violence and resistance as they rode buses across the South, challenging the nation’s segregation laws.=========================

CLICK FOR VIDEO

Freedom Riders were civil rights activists who rode interstate buses into the segregated Southern United States in 1961 and subsequent years to challenge the non-enforcement of the United States Supreme Court decisions Morgan v. Virginia (1946) and Boynton v. Virginia (1960),[3] which ruled that segregated public buses were unconstitutional.[4] The Southern states had ignored the rulings and the federal government did nothing to enforce them. The first Freedom Ride left Washington, D.C. on May 4, 1961,[5] and was scheduled to arrive in New Orleans on May 17.[6]

Boynton outlawed racial segregation in the restaurants and waiting rooms in terminals serving buses that crossed state lines.[7][page needed] Five years prior to the Boynton ruling, the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) had issued a ruling in Sarah Keys v. Carolina Coach Company (1955) that had explicitly denounced the Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) doctrine of separate but equal in interstate bus travel. The ICC failed to enforce its ruling, and Jim Crow travel laws remained in force throughout the South.[citation needed]

The Freedom Riders challenged this status quo by riding interstate buses in the South in mixed racial groups to challenge local laws or customs that enforced segregation in seating. The Freedom Rides, and the violent reactions they provoked, bolstered the credibility of the American Civil Rights Movement. They called national attention to the disregard for the federal law and the local violence used to enforce segregation in the southern United States. Police arrested riders for trespassingunlawful assembly, violating state and local Jim Crow laws, and other alleged offenses, but often they first let white mobs attack them without intervention.

The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) sponsored most of the subsequent Freedom Rides, but some were also organized by the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). The Freedom Rides, beginning in 1960, followed dramatic sit-ins against segregated lunch counters conducted by students and youth throughout the South, and boycotts of retail establishments that maintained segregated facilities.

The Supreme Court's decision in Boynton supported the right of interstate travelers to disregard local segregation ordinances. Southern local and state police considered the actions of the Freedom Riders to be criminal and arrested them in some locations. In some localities, such as Birmingham, Alabama, the police cooperated with Ku Klux Klan chapters and other white people opposing the actions, and allowed mobs to attack the riders.

GET Excited Milwaukeeans, You Have Skin in the Game

August 18, 2020
CITY OF MILWAUKEE || Milwaukeeans who live, work, educate, create family, build businesses, worship, pay taxes and bury family is being asked by MPA-LLC/Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC to join in the documentation of present and past history that looks, feels, smells, and capture the DIGNITY and RESPECT of African Americans, American Indians, Asians, Latinos, and Work Challenged (un-, under-employed and at-risk of COVID-N19).

We ask that members of BLACK LIVES MATTER SHOW UP and SUPPORT.

EQUITY
We are about Moving the Needle for EQUITY INCLUSION, removing REDLINING and calling out GENTRIFICATION, DISCRIMINATION, and RACISM that is forced on neighborhoods through by-design disenfranchisement.

$$MILLIONS sent to or gotten on behalf of the city of Milwaukee, real estate, transportation, pet projects, bids, and tax increment financing are a few of the Caucasian-driven funding taken from the key stakeholders, African Americans, American Indians, Asians, Latinos, and Work Challenged - the target population of Milwaukee.
============

The funding through grants and ALL special funding - Transportation, Stimulus to CARES - is arbitrary, capricious, and systematically given to individuals who live and pay taxes outside of Milwaukee. They are too often Caucasians and a member of the monopoly-oligopoly gang. They are seen in the convoy each morning and afternoon on I-43, I-94, I-794, I-894, and WI-145 to/from Milwaukee.

Skin-in-the-Game
Skin-in-the-Game is where you will find Milwaukeeans at every turn.

We start with the takeaways being the "IN MASS" destruction of African American homes with NO compensations for destructions for I-43 and public transportation recently due to having I-Hop forced on Milwaukeeans rather than need of public transportation to facilitate FULL-TIME employment,

SMART CITY
What an auspicious time for this truth-telling, creating history and legacy-building while including an overdue state-of-the-art BROADBAND.

We look forward to Showcasing the bouquet of ideas, partnerships, and NEW DAY of entertainment, affordable housing, real estate development, transportation, economic development, safety prevention, safety intervention, walk-in neighborhoods beyond downtown Milwaukee and near East Side connecting UW-Milwaukee.

Smart Growth
Smart Growth is over 10 years and we will hasten to catch up on many issues and details that Milwaukeeans have contributed to but NOT been at the table for its creativity, authorization of funding, and oversight.

We will secure the offices of Comptroller, Treasurer, Assessor, Inspector General, Department of Administration, Department of City Development, Department of Public Works, Department of Neighborhood Services, City Library, and City Attorney that will reveal the RICH history of those other than Polish and German inhabitants that makes our city a place of excitement, reveal the history that is in our neighborhood smart growth plan. We welcome, acknowledge, and call for immediate change.

Smart growth is an approach to development that encourages a mix of building types and uses, diverse housing and transportation options, development within existing neighborhoods, and community engagement.

CONGRATULATIONS to America for Joe Biden's correct and wise pick of KAMALA HARRIS, VP

It should be one of the African American women. Why?

==============

African Americans as a MONOLITH were waiting to see if Joe Biden was TRUSTWORTHY.  As President Barack Hussein Obama said, "He nailed it".

With the correct and wise decision of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., he opened the door wide for the "'power of VOTE" with his selection of Kamala Devi Harris. They will appear in mass with the support of the American voter - families, communities, organizations, and followers.

We know the African American woman has always had to be ready on Day 1.  Kamala Harris comes to the table with the DNA of leadership, citizenship, critical thinking, creativity, sharp decision making, common sense, and justice for all.

In addition, she comes to the VP table with academic and practicum experiences that are tested, broad-ranged, and state of the art.

To those standing around the table speaking of "being too ambitious" and holding "grudges", let's talk about that.

I say,  evidently those fat-mouthing forgot that Candidate Kamala Harris was running for the same position as Joe Biden - President of the USA - fair game.

As far as leaving the campaign when she did, she made an assessment and made a decision with the reality of fundraising about her continued campaign.  The public will notice that Candidate Harris remained in the public's eye as a super positive.  In fact, on August 11, 2020, she was the historic pick by presumptive candidate Joe Biden to be his 2020 running mate.

African Americans "Eye on the Prize" is Flipping the Senate and replacing the White House with Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Let's go to work and put them there - They can be TRUSTED.

Milwaukee Police - The Morales Story - Part I

August 9, 2020

CITY OF MILWAUKEE || Over the last 2 or more years, Alfonso Morales, Chief of Police, has had issues of reoccurring concerns regarding the behavior of Milwaukee Police Department.

They include the handling of multiple incidents by Morales that includes:

  • the behavior of police regarding Bucks player Sterling Brown in 2018
  • disrespect in the African American and Latino neighborhoods
  • failure to discipline rogue behavior of police
  • dispersing tear gas and pepper spray on protesters
  • failure to fire Michael Mattioli (accused of killing Joel Acevedo)
  • Morales failure to follow directives of Fire and Police Commission
  • 5th District militarized with national guard (deployed by Tony Evers).

=============================

What is the Fire and Police Commission?

Under Wisconsin law and the Milwaukee City Charter, the Fire and Police Commission oversees all aspects of Fire Department and Police Department operations. The Commission sets overall policy while the chief of each department manages daily operations and implements the Commission’s policy direction and goals.  Specific Commission functions also include:

  • establishing recruitment and testing standards for positions in the Fire and Police Departments,
  • hearing appeals by members of either department who have been disciplined by their Chief,
  • independently investigating and monitoring citizen complaints, and
  • disciplining employees for misconduct.

The seven (7) part-time civilian Commissioners and full-time Executive Director are appointed by the Mayor and must be approved by the Common Council. The Commissioners serve as the citizens’ voice in police and fire matters and as a means of ensuring a more responsive and effective city government. Diversity of background and experience makes the Commissioners’ concerns reflective of the community-at-large, and their priorities include initiatives to reduce crime, increase public safety, and maintain effective responses to fire and medical emergencies.

Commissioners serve overlapping five-year terms, with one appointed each year, and receive a nominal salary of $6,600.00 per year. A thirteen-person staff, headed by the Executive Director, is responsible for carrying out Commission functions.  Staff members are employees of the City of Milwaukee.

John Robert Lewis - US Congressman for GA Remembered

The Gentle Giant - The Boy from Troy and "Peace-Saint" of the World
John Robert Lewis was an American politician and civil-rights leader who served in the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's 5th congressional district from 1987 until his death in 2020. Lewis served as the chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee from 1963 to 1966. Wikipedia

USA/WORLD - As the On-the-Road 6-day admiration begins for the "boy from Troy" (Troy, AL), we smile with joy as we remember his deeds for 65+ years.  For he was a relentless fighter for "GOOD TROUBLE" - If you see something that is NOT RIGHT, you must do something - speak up and speak out.  Being prepared.  Being trained was part of being "particular".

What Mama said
"Be Particular" was one of the many admonitions from his mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Carter, before he left home. She warned of not "making trouble with the segregation strife at the time.  His choice, "Good Trouble" required his commitment to being "particular".  His HOPE.

The Disrespect - Racism shown with the People's Flag in Milwaukee

July 19, 2020

CITY-COUNTY-WIDE NEWSLETTER
"As a Milwaukeean, African American Milwaukeean, I find the People's Flag OFFENSIVE", said Mary Glass, Chief Visionary Officer, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC.

MILWAUKEE || Two years ago, JULY 19, 2018, the article posted by Mary Glass was called,
=======================

CLICK - As a Milwaukeean, African American Milwaukeean, I find the "People's Flag" OFFENSIVE
The article spoke of three (3) aldermen - Robert Donovan-District 8, Khalif Rainey-District 7, and Cavalier Johnson-District 2 that seem to have forgotten their fiduciary responsibility for ALL Milwaukeeans, especially African Americans and other People of Color - Not just Caucasians.

There are emphasis and inference by David Lenz and other individuals who have engaged in segregation, discrimination, redlining, excluding African Americans and other People of Color historic fingerprint, taxation without representation, and disregard for Due Process.  Lenz's idea for a NEW Milwaukee failed due to his racist's approach and DISRESPECT for Moving the Needle for Equity Inclusion.

Since the article in 2018, the supporters have gained like-mind supporters that are known for their Caucasian-only issues input, i.e., John Gruda - a man who has been privileged with privilege in Milwaukee - Channel 10, Milwaukee Public Library Board, take-over of the neighborhood signage of neighborhood posters with a staff and profit in mild associated city of Milwaukee paid staff.  Then, there is the EXCLUSION of African Americans and other People of Color from Gurda's "Making of Milwaukee" books.
City of Milwaukee Neighborhood posters
SLAVERY

MPA-LLC Moving the Needle for Equity Inclusion and Stomping Out Racial Disorder encourages dialog and corrections for ensuring that SLAVERY - forced or coerced into serving and/or fraudulently convinced that they have no option to leave, is not the way to EXCLUDE People of Color and their neighborhoods.

The so-called People's Flag is offensive like the "Confederate Flag".  Whereas the Confederate Flag is more egregious however the premise is where we hold accountability and authenticity.  DISRESPECT and failure to show R E S P E C T for the majority population of People of Color that make up the largest city in Wisconsin is how we arrived with Caucasians setting the standards for "People's" in Milwaukee.  We, People of Color did not help define the name.

Just as the Confederate Flag is a commercial focus, we see that the so-called People's Flag is being flown and sold - flag, clothing, etc.  This is a form of taxation without representation found in Lenz's supporters' sales and John Gurda selling of the neighborhood posters.

No Tom
We vehemently frown on Tom Barrett, mayor showing this flag on the wall of his home at his 2020 OATH, April 21, 2020, since "People's Flag" do NOT represent African Americans and other People of Color - the largest population of Milwaukee.

Barrett is seen wearing this logo on a "Mask" during city meetings - MASK SIGNING and Sherman Phoenix Fond du Lac quickie-pretend "ribbon cutting" (he and the Department of Public Works - Jeffrey Polenske Commissioner's charade that failed to include the residential and commercial Core Constituents in Metcalfe, Amani, Sherman Park, 30 Street Corridor, etc.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, 2020
USA - MILWAUKEE || Today we entertained the news of the death of the Honorable GA Congressman John Robert Lewis.

He is the "saint-hero" of HOPE and drum major of "good trouble" - fighting for civil rights.  He slipped away Friday night and ended his personal day-to-day perseverance on this small real estate of the world - America.  He died of pancreatic cancer.
=============================================>

His work is admired and honored by millions because of his footprint - his commitment to HOPE.
How he has worked over sixty years in providing a pathway through "hard times" and brutality from Caucasians - primarily Caucasian men in the South.  He suffered the bitter pill of hatred - racism, segregation,, and discrimination IN the public square.  His family members were sharecroppers.   He saw the mistreatment of Blacks/  and sought to change them through peaceful non-violence protest.  He was physically beaten many times.  He had his skull cracked and suffer brain injuries.  One of the most brutal beatings was on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Selma, AL by a state trooper.  He did not stop.  He followed his commitment to the cause of justice and civil rights.  He sought and received the guidance of Dr. Martin Luther King.  He is/was known as the "boy from Troy, AL".

Below are GIANTS of the civil rights movement in America.  They are some of the men and women that framed civil rights in America before and during the 60+ years of the saint-hero Congressman John Lewis.  They are the African American Founding Fathers and Mothers of the Civil Rights Movement in America.  They have been selected as members of the notable council of Congressman John Robert Lewis.  They are:
