ALL HANDS on Deck -- No one is exempt
MPA Statement:
There can be no misunderstanding about what the People expect from WI Board of Regents, President Kevin Reilly, the NEW Chancellor, staff and students of UW-Milwaukee as an URBAN University that is being called to honor both the iconic name sake (Milwaukee) and the adjective (urban).
We expect our state statute 36.01(1) (2), UW-M Mission and UW-M 1956 founding reason to be honored - ". . . UWM was founded in 1956 based on the belief that Milwaukee would need a great public university to become a great and thriving city. Quality education, excellence in research, and community service are all central to the University’s mission"..
We seek inclusiveness of the assets of education and technology attainment from our highest public education system to stimulate quality of life and economic development and to “un-trap” hidden talent and emerging markets from Enduring Concentrated Poverty.
We seek to connect ALL Milwaukeeans, especially those who have FOR DECADES been “consistently” and “by design” left out of strategic decision making - African American, other People of Color and Work-Challenged taxpayers, voters, stakeholders.
