FPC- Fire and Police Commission CLOSED Meeting - 9:30 am, June 1, 2020

JUNE 1, 2020
CITY OF MILWAUKEE || MILWAUKEE COUNTY has a CLOSED meeting scheduled for 9:30 am today to discuss the "protest" in Milwaukee.

AGENDA
Executive Closed Session Teleconference via GoToMeeting

The Fire and Police Commission Board will meet on the following item:

FPC20199 Communication from the City Attorney's office regarding civil unrest Motion to Adjourn The Board may receive a motion to convene in closed session.
===========================
We note that the use of "civil unrest" rather than "protest" sends the WRONG SIGNAL and mindset of those we have in a key role of leadership on behalf of our city.

Do the FPC not know that GEORGE FLOYD was murdered on camera by a Caucasian police?

Do the FPC not know what their role is at this time?

The FPC has a SOP-Standard Operating Procedure of responsibility to provide a clear and unbias address of the "PROTEST" as a city-level oversight body.

=============
What happened one week ago, May 25, 2020 - Memorial Day sent African Americans into a tailspin of how another African American is murdered by those we pay to provide safety in our neighborhoods.

The wording of "civil unrest" sends the WRONG signal.
===============>  Civil unrest is typically defined by law enforcement as a gathering of three or more people, in reaction to an event, with the intention of causing a public disturbance in violation of the law. Civil unrest typically involves damage to property or injury to other people.
