MEET IRS FORM 1095A

USA – Draft regulations were recently submitted through the Federal Registry. It has to do with reporting by the insurance exchanges regarding information they send to you and the information you, the individual, send in to the Internal Revenue Services.

Take a look at a blog article started by Michael Keegan, Public Affairs Consultant at Health Insurance Agents for America, Inc and reprinted by Allison Bell.

We will have an update at the 2013 Affordable Health Care Summit.

Health Insurance for Small Employers and Their Employees 2013

July 9, 2013
WISCONSIN - Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC, All Hands on Deck, WE CAN, calls for underpinning small census tract and neighborhood businesses that are 1-50, we feel that the self-employed and Independent Contractor are also an employee and start with “1”.  The state of Wisconsin gives the number of 2-50.  We will seek information for the 2013 Affordable Health Care Summit, August 2-4, 2013, Milwaukee, WI.  In the meantime, when you visit the health exchange ask for clarification.  Do ask.

To help provide “information preparedness”, we are sharing the 2013 report that was filed by the Office of the Insurance Commissioner of Wisconsin, Ted Nickel.   It is entitled:  Health Insurance for Small Employers and Their Employees 2013.

Below is an Introduction, it is 49 pages, CLICK.

1.   Introduction (ch. 635, Wis. Stat., and ch. Ins 8, Wis. Adm. Code)

1.  Wisconsin small employers are not required by state law to offer employees health care benefits.   However, many small employers offer health benefits to their employees in order to attract and keep good employees. Small employer health insurance is available in Wisconsin from several insurers and managed care plans. This publication is meant to help small employers understand their options and to provide a comparison of premium rates available in the small employer health insurance marketplace.

A small employer is defined as one who employs at least 2 but not more than 50 employees in Wisconsin. State law defines an eligible employee is one who works on a permanent basis and has a normal work week of 30 or more hours. This includes a sole proprietor, a business owner, including the owner of a farm business, a partner of a partnership, and an independent contractor if these individuals are included as an employee under a health benefit plan of a small employer. The term does not include an employee who works on a temporary or substitute basis or less than 30 hours a week.

As the employer, you choose the health benefit plan that meets both your needs and your budget.  This may mean deciding which plan is worth the cost. For example, plans that allow you the most choices in doctors and hospitals also tend to cost more than plans that limit choices. Plans that help manage the care you receive usually cost you less, but employees give up some freedom of choice.

2013 Affordable Health Care Walk-thru TENT FAIR adds ACADEMIC/SCHOOLS ROW to Layout Map

July 8, 2013

The Affordable Health Care implementation brings to the table a multi-dimensional reach into the census tracts and neighborhoods of Halyard Park and neighboring communities.  For Milwaukee neighborhoods that have been besieged by the LACK of long-term family supporting employment, it brings NEW opportunities in many fields that can be vocational and medical.  The aggregated effect means a higher per capital income for the sustainability of the URBAN city.

Education and Technology
Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC looks at how to co-locate talents and vetted businesses for better health care, health care provisions and building businesses that will support the crust of services needed.

The Academic/SCHOOLS Row at the 2013 Affordable Health Care FAIR will allow institutions and organizations in vocational-technical-higher education to come to the neighborhood and render state-of-the-art competitive curriculums, to recruitment students of different adult ages for health care and related fields of today's marketplace for  (certificates, degrees and other services) as well as related and unrelated fields for certificated and degree pursuit.  It allows the residential and commercial stakeholder to be made aware.  The Academic/Schools Row designation is on the southwest side of James Beckum Park and runs from Brown Street into the park.

"We know that a HIGH population of Milwaukeeans, through practicum - long-term experience in 'providing services' that are domesticated and technical.  Too often, Milwaukeeans do not have the certificates and degrees to leverage the vertical and lateral climb to high-wage employment.  We call for blended Beyond-the-Classroom and academic education attainment that includes information technology to kick-start top-notch health care services in the NEW areas of care promoted by the Affordable Health Care law.  Therefore, we are calling for vocational, technical and higher education (public and private) to share their BEST and cost-effective opportunities for NOW and going forward.  MPA LLC Consumer Protection Group will monitor the traditional and NEW online courses for hands-on merit, relevance, technique, customer satisfaction and congruency with the marketplace.  It is so important that the curriculums are culturally-sensitive in design, ongoing comprehensive course support/tutoring is available with student in mind to maximize successful outcomes", said Mary Glsss, Chair/CEO, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC.

Balancing MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN – Privately Managed Health Care Insurance

Enrollment in Private Plans requires Preparedness for People of Color and Work Challenged Population

In Wisconsin, Medicare beneficiaries in Medicare Advantage are a few percentage points above the national average of 28%.  Wisconsin percentage is 33%.

The largest city is Milwaukee – It is also the largest URBAN city – and the gateway city of Wisconsin.  It is also an Enduring Concentrated Poverty city that is by-design.  To change this oxymoron, reform at the INFRASTRUCTURE level is paramount, while at the same time reform takes place in other quality of life and economic development areas driven by the People who live, work, educate their family members, build businesses, worship and make laws at the census tract and neighborhood level.

Health Care is a quality of life issue that affects all other issues.  Many, many, many Milwaukeeans have gone without proper health care for extended periods of time that have been decades and therefore behaviors planned or unintended are present.   The lack of proper health care and personal management by Milwaukeeans (known and mostly unknown) is vital to repair, revitalization and balancing/rebalancing the MINDSET of the people for a “paradigm shift”?.

Come October 1, 2013, those who have been without personal and usable health care for preventable and existing care will be thrust onto the competitive privately managed health care options of the Affordable Health Care act.  Are we ready?  No.  Will we be ready?  Not at the rate and sharing that is coming forth.  However, we can realistically in joint-tenancy start to lay the foundation for proper “transition” for the next 3-4 four years.  The period between NOW and March 30, 2014 is crucial for PREPAREDNESS.

Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC is committed and taking a stand to see that the necessary building blocks are put in place for Milwaukeeans to be able to not only select their insurance plan based on needs, market availability, cost sharing, brand loyalty, bonus ratings, data points and advantages; but, to grow as working-together with those who are payers of insurance – public and private.

We must all do our part to BUY-IN to the necessary reforms of best practices, stewardship, TRUST and accountability of ALL to BALANCE the elephant in the room.

Schacknow - Today's Brief, July 8, 2013

Futures Point to More Gains as New Week Begins
Peter Schacknow, Senior Producer, CNBC Breaking News Desk

U.S. stocks are coming off two consecutive weeks of gains, the first time that's occurred since mid-May. The major averages have already gained more in July than they lost in June, the first losing month of 2013.

Earnings season officially begins today, with Dow component Alcoa (AA) releasing its quarterly numbers after the closing bell. JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and Wells Fargo (WFC) are the other high profile reports out this week, though the pace of earnings reports doesn't begin to pick up until next week.

The Monday calendar has only one economic report, with the government releasing May consumer credit figures at 3 p.m. ET. Consensus forecasts call for a $12.5 billion increase in credit for the month, compared to April's $11.1 billion rise.

Dell (DELL) remains on our watch list this Monday morning, with investor Carl Icahn once again aiming criticism at the computer maker through a letter addressed to both Dell stockholders and a Dell special committee. Icahn accuses the committee of attacking its own business and saying that "no one has less confidence in Dell than Dell itself". Icahn continues to push his alternative proposal to founder Michael Dell's $13.65 per share buyout offer.

Walt Disney (DIS) saw its "Lone Ranger" movie trounced at the weekend box office, taking in just $29.4 million over the weekend. The movie reportedly had a $225 million budget.

BP (BP) will be in court today, with a three judge appeals court panel considering a dispute over the multibillion dollar settlement of Gulf oil spill-related claims. BP claims the terms of the settlement allowed businesses to receive millions in payments for inflated and fictitious losses.

Facebook (FB) officially begins rolling out "Graph Search" to users today, although many of its users have had access to the beta version since January.

Thomson Reuters (TRI) is suspending early release of its widely followed University of Michigan consumer sentiment data. The information had been released to selected clients two seconds ahead of everyone else, but New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman is now reviewing that arrangement.

Microsoft (MSFT) is shutting down its MSN TV service at the end of September. The service, once known as Web TV, was purchased by Microsoft for $503 million in 1997.
