SHOW 114 - RACIAL DISORDER |
MILWAUKEE CITY/COUNTY || SHOW 114 sheds light on
another local school district in the Milwaukee area on RACIAL DISORDER. This time it is curriculum-based.
It is dealing with an assignment by a Gym teacher in Middle School. The assignment asked for research of "Slave Games".
Back in October 2018, the use of the N-word in the play, To Kill a Mocking Bird was hampered and an emotionally charged special meeting was held to address the village concerns.
A Shorewood Gym Teacher has been placed on leave for having African American students to research "slave game" as an assignment. The assignment drew criticism from Dr. ReShunda Stephens, a parent of one of the students given the assignment.
Dr. Stephens noted past racially related issues - one related to "colored club" and an issue dealing with her oldest daughter before she graduated.
