MPS SANCTUARY YOUTH LEADERS

MILWAUKEE | On Thursday, March 30, 2017, children of families of Milwaukee Public Schools met at 5225 W. Vilet in the cafeteria.  They ate, reviewed their strategy, chanted for the evening, and then marched to the auditorium where they shared in an appeal to the Board of Directors of Milwaukee Public Schools.

They one-by-one marched up to the mike and shared their feelings  - sometimes crying - about how they felt as individuals in America.  As Americans being treated less.  They spoke of the fear and hardships that they, their family members and others are experiencing.

At the end of their speaking, a vote was taken by the School Board members of Milwaukee Public Schools.  It was unanimous to make MPS a Sanctuary Public School district.
