Cicely Tyson is a legend in her own right, and will be receiving a well-deserved award.
The actress, 93, was announced as one of the recipients of this year’s honorary Oscars by the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Tyson began her career as a model and a theater actress with her first big screen role in 1968’s The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, starring actor Alan Arkin. Four years later, in 1972, the star received an Academy Award nomination for her leading performance in Sounder.
==========================
Mary Glass, Chair/CEO/CVO, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC said,
"Ms. Cicely is the quintessential craft-lady in acting from "gut-soul-eloquence".  "We say, it is about time."
"My favorite movie by Ms. Cicely is SOUNDER."
" The 2 1/2-minute scene, When she sees/recognizes Nathan coming/walking down the dirt road toward their house - she takes off in barefoot running as fast as possible to her MAN, the father of her children, her husband.  I mean you can feel the soul and power of her energy that infects daughter, the oldest son, youngest son AND Nathan.  Truly powerful."
See below,
the scene of Ms. Rebecca running to welcome home  Mr. Nathan Lee, fast-forward to 1:24:54 time in the Sounder Movie below.

BOOK/POEM - The Invisible MAN by Ellison and Hughes

Invisible Man is a novel by Ralph Ellison, published by Random House in 1952. It addresses many of the social and intellectual issues facing African Americans early in the twentieth century, including black nationalism, the relationship between black identity and Marxism, and the reformist racial policies of Booker T. Washington, as well as issues of individuality and personal identity.

Ralph Ellison (1914-1994)

Born in 1914 in Oklahoma City, the grandson of slaves, Ralph Waldo Ellison and his younger brother were raised by their mother, whose husband died when Ralph was 3 years old. His mother supported her young family by working as a nursemaid, a janitor and a domestic.
From an early age, Ellison loved music and expected to be a musician and a composer. He played his first instrument - a cornet - at age 8. By 19, he had enrolled at Tuskegee Institute as a music major, playing the trumpet. Although drawn to jazz and jazz musicians, Ellison studied classical music and the symphonic form because he was looking forward to a career as a composer and performer of classical music.
In the summer of 1936, Ellison went to New York City to earn expenses for his senior year at Tuskegee. It was a fateful decision: He never returned to his studies at Tuskegee and never became a professional musician. While in New York, Ellison met the writer Richard Wright. When they first became acquainted, Ellison had every intention of returning to Tuskegee. But the Great Depression prevented him from earning the needed funds.
Eventually, he got a job doing research and writing for the New York Federal Writers Program, an offshoot of the Works Progress Administration. He also began writing essays and short stories for the “New Masses,” “The Negro Quarterly,” “The New Republic,” “Saturday Review” and other publications.
With the outbreak of World War II, Ellison joined the U.S. Merchant Marine as a cook, saw action in the North Atlantic and began to think of writing a major novel. However, not until after the war did he begin writing what was to become “Invisible Man.”   MORE
A milestone in American literature--a book that has continued to engage readers since its appearance in 1952. Nominated as one of America’s best-loved novels by PBS’s The Great American Read.  The first novel by an unknown writer, it remained on the bestseller list for sixteen weeks, won the National Book Award for fiction, and established Ralph Ellison as one of the key writers of the century. The nameless narrator of the novel describes growing up in a black community in the South, attending a Negro college from which he is expelled, moving to New York and becoming the chief spokesman of the Harlem branch of "the Brotherhood", and retreating amid violence and confusion to the basement lair of the Invisible Man he imagines himself to be. The book is a passionate and witty tour de force of style, strongly influenced by T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land, Joyce, and Dostoevsky.

James Mercer Langston Hughes (February 1, 1901 – May 22, 1967)

I, too, sing America.

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.

Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.

Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--

I, too, am America.

James Langston Hughes was born in Missouri in 1902. Growing up, he wanted to become a lawyer but was thankfully not allowed to take the qualifying exam. In his childhood, he moved amongst many towns and states often and therefore had no sense of belonging anywhere. He was strongly influenced by the writings of Carl Sandburg, Walt Whitman, and W.E.B. Du Bois. Just out of high school, while returning home from staying with his biological father in Mexico, Hughes wrote his famous first poem, “The Negro Speaks of Rivers.” He found himself drawn to the life of jazz and blues in Harlem and dropped out of Columbia University to become a part of it. He worked ordinary jobs in West Africa, Paris, and Italy, only to return to America as a poet. He earned a bachelor’s degree and supported himself with his writing, which included not only poetry, but also satire, short stories, children’s literature, non-fiction, opera lyrics, plays, and movies. Many people recognize his poetry because of its rhythmic, lyric quality and vernacular tone. Due to surgical complications, Langston Hughes died on May 22nd, 1967.

Bizarre Claim - African American Teen Falsely Accused of Robbing Caucasian Grandmother

Black Teen Falsely Accused Of Robbing White Grandmother: Report

Police say a passerby gave a false robbery report when they said a black man was robbing two white women. They were actually relatives.

September 6, 2018

TAKE A LOOK-SEE in this Shorewood Patch article and let me know how you felt during and after reading it.
Do it right away.

PUBLIC BEHAVIOR
We, the People, must seek solutions.  Yes. We are from angered to BEING dismayed; therefore, we must provide leadership.

This young boy/teenager could have been shot - body punctured - or KILLED.
It could have been your son, grandson, nephew, or uncle.  OR, SOMEONE ELSE'S MALE CHILD THAT IS AFRICAN AMERICAN.

This would "most likely - 99.9%" not happened if it was a Caucasian teen his age and his African American grandmother and her African American friend.

Then there is the "alleged African American" tell-all to police passerby.

Can not wait for additional reports from the attorney of the young boy's family.

This Man makes Sense and speaks to the Changes of Drugs, Incarceration & Pardoning

PHIL ANDERSON - CANDIDATE THAT SHOULD BE HEARD

MID-WEEK
SEPTEMBER 5, 2018
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || Upfront with Mike Gousha is a Sunday television show on Channel 12, WISN, Milwaukee.

Phil Anderson, 2018 Candidate for Governor wants to be included in the 2018 Fall Debate with Tony Evers and Scott Walker.  In a recent Marquette Poll, Anderson received 6%.  Evers and Walker received 46%.

"The breadth and smartness of his campaign is 90% in my opinion", said Mary Glass, Chief Visionary Officer, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC.

He was one of the guests on Gousha's show on September 4, 2018.
He makes sense - moneywise, humane, quality of life and economic development.

He talks to the "core of change" in all of our lives in Wisconsin.
He speaks to the BIG ELEPHANTS in the room - racism, and miscarriage of justice.
He speaks of how we can address the largest expenditure in the state budget - Wisconsin Department of Correction.
He speaks of Incarceration and Marijuana.
He challenges the "status quo" from the office of Governor.
His revolutionizing "common sense" will release the stranglehold on families being destroyed by the use and sale of drugs.

The impactfulness of the governor's office in pardons, expungement, and the RIGHT TO VOTE once a Wisconsinite has served time and "off paper".

The co-dependency and misguided laws that place a stranglehold in the lives of African American, other People of Color and the Work Challenged can and will be addressed in a wholesome way that makes sense rather than spitefulness, high cost, and brutality.

His focus on "local control" rather than state or federal requires "tweaking" for transparency and right-now accountability.  As a matter of fact, more transparency and accountability of the lawmakers and governor is needed from the citizenry.

Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC seeks Fiserv & Milwaukee Bucks for DNC Visit

Milwaukee Electorate-stakeholders SNUBBED, Why?

SUNDAY, August 26, 2018
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || E S P E T and Inclusiveness of the owners and voters of Milwaukee were omitted by Alex Lasry - Milwaukee Bucks, Tom Barrett - Mayor, Ashanti Hamilton, Common Council President, 15-member Common Council, Gwen Moore - U. S. Congresswoman and others who INVITED the visit by the Selection Committee of the Democratic Party.

"We are not pleased with the disregard and fait accompli Fiduciary administration of elected individuals responsible for the DNC Selection Committee coming to Milwaukee for the 2020 DNC National Convention, said Mary Glass, Chair-CEO-Chief Visionary Officer, Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC. "There is a conflict of interest (Alex Lasry-Bucks, Fiserv Forum Arena) and lack of moral clarity in the Invitation of the DNC 2020 Convention; therefore, MPA LLC is requesting radar-speed collaboration with Milwaukee Bucks president Peter Feigin and Jeff Yabuki, president and CEO of Fiserv Inc. to ensure that a forum or two is provided for the citizenry while the DNC Committee is in town.

It is important to note the following 13 omissions and lack of business etiquette for Citizen Participation and Due Process.

  1. THAT, The MEGA Bucks Deal - "Cheaper to Keep Them" was a dark moment of misuse of power and Fait Accompli decision making for/by a retiring millionaire Democrat, ex-U. S. Senator Herb Kohl, who also owned the NBA Milwaukee Bucks.  His partners in the millionaire-billionaires MEGA deal were/are Marc Lasry, Wes Eden, and Jamie Dinan.
  2. THAT, the city of Milwaukee is mired in Enduring Concentrated Poverty due to Fait Accompli administration and deal-making.
  3. THAT, the citizenry of Milwaukee was roped into a 27-30 year underwriting for the Milwaukee Bucks Arena (Cheaper to Keep Them) to be built - Involuntary Servitude and Fait Accompli takeover - Milwaukeeans cost $47 Million for starters.
  4. THAT, the Milwaukee Bucks Arena is "EXEMPT" from taxes - Reprehensible - MPA LLC recently discovered.
  5. THAT, Alex Lasry, a Milwaukee Bucks senior vice president, son of Marc Lasry, billionaire and co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks DISRESPECTED the Core Constituents (African American, other People of Color, Work Challenged, and Caucasians) by failing to consult, meet with and engage for a city-wide affirmative support for the DNC Selection Committee 2020 Convention.
  6. THAT, Alex Lasry, son of Marc Lasry, instead asked the  Milwaukee Press Club - "It's all about telling the story," Lasry said during a presentation to the Milwaukee Press Club.
  7. THAT, Alex Lasry "led a delegation and had a reception at the Democratic National Committee winter meeting in Washington, D.C., to bring attention to "all things Wisconsin."
  8. THAT, Alex Lasry was disingenuous when he stated to the DNC:  "I am here as citizen Lasry and chair of the Milwaukee bid committee," he said, making clear he was not speaking on behalf of the Milwaukee Bucks, where he is senior vice president.  Take a listen to what Alex Lasry says in the Channel 12 video.  CLICK
  9. THAT, the over half million population of the city of Milwaukee is NOT recognized.
  10. THAT, the video shows Caucasians having FUN WHILE the city owners - majority People of Color - those footing the bill for the extravagant behaviors - have Taxation without Representation.  They have been LEFT OUT of decision-making, "what's in it for us" and the Welcome Wagon.
  11. THAT, Tom Barrett, the mayor and Tim Sheehy, Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce was at again "selling out the citizenry" with Alex Lasry.  According to JSOnline, Lasry provided an update on Milwaukee's effort, which was launched in late February. The effort has the backing of Mayor Tom Barrett and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
  12. THAT, Fiserv - Jeff Yabuki, just received a huge revenue stream and brand booster of 25-year naming rights of Fiserv Forum.
  13. THAT, Fiserv - Jeff Yabuki and Peter Feigin - Milwaukee Bucks are ELEVATED and We, the People are FLEECED and SNUBBED.
DNC Midterm Chicago
Today we demonstrated the values of the Democratic Party. We trust you. We want you to join the party. We will lead with you. We will listen to you. We want you to have a seat at the table. That’s what today was all about,” Perez said. “That’s what this journey to form a better party has been about. And when we are united, we are at our best and we will never shy away from those tough discussions.” Tom Perez, DNC National Chair - August 25, 2018 - Midterm Summer Meeting in Chicago, IL - Rule Change, SuperDelegates.

The DNC Midterm Summer Meeting ended Saturday, August 25, 2018, with a rule change that prohibits SuperDelegates
The rules change prevents party leaders and elected officials — who in the past have become unpledged, unelected superdelegates to the Democratic National Convention — from casting a first-ballot presidential nominating vote unless the nominee already has been determined from among delegates elected at state party primaries and caucuses. Superdelegates could vote in subsequent roll calls to break a deadlocked nomination

Fiserv Forum
Sunday, August 26, 2018, is the opening of the Fiserv-Forum - Milwaukee Bucks Arena.  Therefore, it is safe to say that the DNC Selection Committee members HAVE made their way to Milwaukee.

Democratic Selection Committee
This is the week of the official VISIT August 27-28, 2018 of the Democrat 2020 Selection Committee.  This group of Democrats is in the process of reviewing Milwaukee as a finalist.

Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC is calling for collaboration - date-certain, underwriting, marketing, venue and discussion with Milwaukee Bucks president Peter Feigin and Jeff Yabuki, president and CEO of Fiserv Inc to quickly lay the groundwork for ensuring that the DNC Selection Committee has an opportunity to meet with stakeholders that MPA LLC will assemble for due diligence and due process befitting visitors - selectors for the DNC Selection Committee.

“We got to figure this out,” said Cedric Fleming, one of the barbers. “We got a gangster in the chair now,” he said, referring to President-elect Donald J. Trump.
They admitted that they could not complain too much: Only two of them had voted. But there were no regrets.
“I don’t feel bad,” Mr. Fleming said, trimming a mustache. “Milwaukee is tired. Both of them were terrible. They never do anything for us anyway.

"Senator John Sidney McCain III created a lifetime of memories that can be respected and questioned - which meant he was in the 'thick of controversy' and challenged thinking.  I write about him because he became measured and wiser with his seasoned thinking especially when he corrected a senior Caucasian during his campaign against President Barack Hussein Obama (then Candidate Obama).  She called him 'Arab' AND his 'thumb-down' NO vote against the Republican Repeal of Affordable Health Care - Obama Care.  For those two steps alone, he won my appreciation of and to review his vast 81-year history per
Wikipedia".  Mary Glass

***********************************

John Sidney McCain III (August 29, 1936 – August 25, 2018) was an American politician who served as a United States Senator from Arizona from 1987 until his death.

He was the Republican nominee for President of the United States in the 2008 election, which he lost to Barack Obama.

Senator John McCain entered the Naval Academy in June of 1954. He served in the United States Navy until 1981.

While McCain was on a bombing mission during Operation Rolling Thunder over Hanoi in October 1967, he was shot down, seriously injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese

He was a prisoner of war until 1973.

McCain experienced episodes of torture and refused an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer.

The wounds that he sustained during the war left him with lifelong physical disabilities.

He retired from the Navy as a captain in 1981 and moved to Arizona, where he entered politics.

He was elected to the US House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982 and to the Senate in 1986.

While generally adhering to conservative principles, McCain also had a media reputation as a "maverick" for his willingness to disagree with his party on certain issues.

After being investigated and largely exonerated in a political influence scandal of the 1980s as a member of the Keating Five, he made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, which eventually resulted in passage of the McCain–Feingold Act in 2002. He was also known for his work in the 1990s to restore diplomatic relations with Vietnam, and for his belief that the Iraq War should have been fought to a successful conclusion. McCain chaired the Senate Commerce Committee and opposed pork-barrel spending.

He belonged to the bipartisan "Gang of 14" which played a key role in alleviating a crisis over judicial nominations.

In 1982, McCain was elected to the United States House of Representatives, where he served two terms. He entered the U.S. Senate in 1987 and easily won reelection five times, the last time in 2016.

McCain continued to be one of the most frequently appearing guests on the Sunday morning news talk shows.[299]
He became one of the most vocal critics of the Obama administration's handling of the September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, saying it was a "debacle" that featured either "a massive cover-up or incompetence that is not acceptable" and that it was worse than the Watergate scandal.[301]
As part of this, he and a few other senators were successful in blocking the planned nomination of Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice to succeed Hillary Rodham Clinton as U.S. Secretary of State; McCain's friend and colleague John Kerry was nominated instead.[302]
McCain emerged as a leader of the Republican opposition to the Obama economic stimulus package of 2009, saying it had too much spending for too little stimulative effect.[272]

McCain also voted against Obama's Supreme Court nomination of Sonia Sotomayor—saying that while undeniably qualified, "I do not believe that she shares my belief in judicial restraint"[273]—and by August 2009 was siding more often with his Republican Party on closely divided votes than ever before in his senatorial career.[274] McCain reasserted that the War in Afghanistan was winnable[275] and criticized Obama for a slow process in deciding whether to send additional U.S. troops there.[276]
