SHOW 58 - A Blast of the Internet of Things & Black History

James Carlini, Dr. William Rogers & Charles Carmickle were Guests
FEBRUARY 6, 2018
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || Public Policy w/Mary Glass & Company was "blasting talk" yesterday with Information for Informed Decision-Making and "thinking".

James Carlini - Carlini & Associates
Jim Carlini, author and IoT expert, shared an abundance of information for the audience in the Internet of Things and government Infrastructure recommendations.

Carlini shared 5 products of the 3,900 products at the CES - Consumer Electronics Show - the global stage of Innovation in Las Vegas, January 7-12, 2018. More than 180,000 industry professionals, including more than 58,000 from outside the U.S., convened in Las Vegas to drive the ever-evolving global technology industry forward.

He also reminded the audience of the Mississippi River Locks and the need for government officials to take on training and updating procedures, the waterway of the Mississippi River and how service is delivered to the citizenry.  He referenced an article in International Policy Digest that he wrote dated January 3, 2018, for more information.

Black History Month
Dr. William Rogers, Historian, Atlanta Talk Show Host and ex-Professor of UW-Milwaukee, laid the foundation about how and why African American History Month is celebrated.  His reminder about African Americans being treated as "chattel" slavery in the "uprooting" of Africans to America.  It was the effort of "stripping" Africans of "self".

He talked about Dr. Carter G. Woodson is the creator of Black History Month.  How the beginning of Black History Month started off as Black History Week.  Dr. Woodson, author and scholar, was the second African American to receive a doctorate degree from Harvard University (The first being Dr.  W. E. B. Du Bois).

Dr. Woodson promoted scholarly deeds and created curriculums and the creation of The Negro Digest publication.  He was the Founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History

Dr. Rogers argued the importance of passing the history on to other generations, including the present individuals of all races.  How the history books and the halls of learning are yet lacking in telling the story of the rich and heroic lives of the African American family.

Charles Carmickle, Talk Show Host, Life:  Welcome to Reality on Riverwest Radio 104.1, was on hand to share personal clips of African American life in America.  This included his personal storytelling of conversations with African American women that were once slaves with papers to prove it.

Carmickle added a special Reading "For February" to the audience that is worth your listening.  He also reminds us of a uniqueness of this February 2018 regarding the Number 4.

Take a listen to Show 58.

Dr. Daniel Hale Williams: America’s First Black Cardiologist
LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC/WPGC) – One of the first successful open-heart surgeries was performed by the first African American cardiologist, Dr. Daniel Hale Williams.
In 1893, Williams saved a stabbing victim’s life by repairing tears to the heart lining. This type of surgery had never been attempted before.
Williams is credited with founding Provident Hospital in Chicago 1891, which is considered the first black-owned and operated hospital in America. He was also appointed surgeon-in-chief at Freedmen’s hospital in D.C. from 1894-1898.

Today we have a shoutout to the American Heart Association along with Black History.

Week of Kick-Off and Due Diligence - It is Time for TINN Broadband

IT IS TIME for 365 days/52 weeks/7 days/24 hours Access, Literacy, and Uses of BROADBAND
February  1, 2018
CITY-WIDE MILWAUKEE || Today Milwaukee Professionals Association LLC is Kicking off All Hands on Deck, It is Time Campaign. Re-Define, Re-Brand and Un-Trap wealth-building through paradigm shifting, self-help and self-empowerment Infrastructure leadership.  It is Time.

All Hands on Deck, It is Time is the lead-Initiative for MPA LLC for SMART GROWTH Actions that originated as an Infrastructure strategic plan of action in 2010.

It is as it says, All-WE in a solidarity movement with action.

Today, TINN and To Much is Given, Much is Expected,  two byproduct Initiatives of All Hands on Deck are calling for "Stakeholder Participation" and widespread "BUY-IN" for Informed Decision-Making to Re-Define, Re-Brand and Un-Trap wealth-building through paradigm shifting, self-help and self-empowerment leadership.  It is Time.

TINN
TINN - TEAM Internet-Net Neutrality BROADBAND for the Underserved User Initiative leads the way with Broadband Solidarity-Sanctuary-Intersectionality of 6 cities/townships (Mt. Pleasant, Racine, Sturtevant, Kenosha, Somer, and Milwaukee)in the southeastern low-lands of Wisconsin.  The stakeholder must be connected 365 days/52 weeks/7days/24 hours for 21st Century Smart homes, Smart buildings, Smart transportation and SMART cities.

TINN has chosen the government resources of the FCC - Federal Communication Commission and Wisconsin Public Service Commission to assist with due diligence through resources of the FCC and WI Public Service Commission.

TINN's advocacy platform seeks transparency, compliance, and advocacy of Net Neutrality and oversight of the services for Broadband through the FCC and WI Public Service Commission.

TINN and the People.  During the 3-year case study and Phase I Installation will seek city-town-village-region-state and national elected-appointed-hired and donor-for-hire government representatives to make Broadband best practices, Access, Literacy and use a 2018 reality.

Broadband Opportunity
TINN's Welcome Wagon is reaching out to leaders of Mt. Pleasant, Racine, Sturtevant, Kenosha, Somers and Racine County Economic Development Corporation to introduce TINN Broadband for the Underserved User and its Big 8 and 4.0 manufacturing  Industry platform as well as seek BUY-IN for their individual 21st Century SMART city in Wisconsin.

It includes the INTRANET Guild manufacturing for customer digitizing.

INTRANET Guild manufacturing is MPA LLC transformative approach for TINN Broadband connectivity with stakeholders of the 6 cities/villages to expand THEIR wealth-building status by jump-starting emerging businesses, expansion of historic neighborhood/census tract businesses, best practices in the use of government funding for the Underserved, and self-sufficiency for self-sustainability and SMART Growth going forward.

INTRANET Guilds creates another wealth-building stimulus to southeastern Wisconsin economy from the foundation up.  It connects the populations mired in Enduring Concentrated Poverty (personally and environmentally) and it will connect entrepreneurs of People of Color within the targeted cities/villages.

With the advent of Foxconn as a NEW global Big 8 and 4.0 Industry expert to enter southeastern Wisconsin lowlands, Foxconn is in a position be an economic development partner and investor-stimulus for Foxconn success.

Expectation Rule
MPA LLC has the initiative that says, "To Much is Given, Much is Expected".

It Calls on/Out Heavy-Lifting by corporations and large investors who have come to local governments and received mega dollars and resources - tax credits, incentives, real estate, organizations, statutes and questionable deals as hand-outs and gifts to jumpstart, enhance their organizations and "stockholders".

We start with the banks and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), infrastructure investment includes facilitating the construction, expansion, improvement, maintenance or operation of essential infrastructure or facilities for health services, education, public safety, public services, industrial parks or affordable housing. Broadband is included as a form of infrastructure investment—an essential community service.
